don't know much about the band myself, but it seems Snah produced their latest album, out in february 2010.

Ken's setlist: (I added the ->'s)

CHIEN
-> TIMOTHY'S M.
SUNSHIP
-> ARNE H.
PPP
MOUNTAIN
-> GIFTLAND
-> STARHAMAR
PLAN #1
GULLIBLE'S
------------
VISITANT (not played)
X-3 (not played)
BOINGANOID (not played)
------------
V.S.

About two hours and twenty minutes.

The AB audience get's a star for being dead quiet and awesome!
Fantastic opening, stunning Un Chien!
Then some technical issues and we lost most of Snah's guitar on Sunship and Arne H. They got it sorted and then absolutely fantastic till the end. Really.
Killer Mountain!

Something happened at the very beginning of Plan #1 which pissed Bent off a lot. He was showing two middle fingers to someone off stage and seemed out of it during the first few minutes of the song. Very heavy bass sound from there on until then end of the gig.
And they cut three encores. Curfew? Anger?

Vortex was what Vortex is - one of the best live songs on the planet. What a sound!

Great concert, but a little on the hmm...what's going on here? side of things at times. Again, star audience!!
Get this: They whisper to each other when it's quiet.

I'm so fired up about this, lemme start a topic that is beyond Motorpsychedelism. If inappropriate for whatever reason, can it.

BUT till then:

http://www.antiquiet.com/news/2009/07/homme-grohl-john-paul-jones-new-band/

I repeat: HOMME, GROHL, JONES!

This beats Rossi, Tardelli, Altobelli by a million miles. And if Patton joins in, o my o my. Jones never really got to shine on that 07 reunion, I missed him going off like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGHWxLruLvA

While we wait for a new tour, album, ep and dvd, I thought it would be fun and to do a album cup of mps albums.

The rules are easy, you vote for the album you want to win, and in one week (or so), we´ll see who´ll meet in the semis etc.

I gave the albums a number and used a random number generator to spilt them into the different groups. I´ll use this method again to see who´ll battle each other in the quarter and semi finals.

Here round 1:

Group A
Let them eat Cake VS Barracuda

Group B
Soothe VS Heavy Metal Fruit

Group C
Blissard VS It's a love cult

Group D
Trust Us VS Phanerothyme

Group E
Demon Box VS Angels and Daemons at

Group F
Lobotomizer VS Child of the Future

Group G
Little Lucid Moments VS Black Hole / Blank Canvas

Group H
Timothy's Monster VS In the Fishtank

To make the math add up I had to omit some albums, hence no tusslers or roadworks. (sorry, but it was either 8 or 16 groups, and 16 would include a lot of eps and a lot of work)

Now´ll lets see if we can get this polls to work

While mowing the lawn yesterday I listened to Demon Box twice in a row, probably for the 30th time. Aside for being a fantastic album, I noticed Plan #1 properly for the first time. The talking part (about pretty fucked up things like a crowbar in a vagina) is really, really cool. Can't explain why, but something about the mix of Bent's voice and the parts with dialogue is gripping. I was just wondering where the ....

Found out it was better to look around myself, it was of course Matt Burt (which is presented as "Narrator" in the personell list in the Demon Box leaflet. And Burt is also obviously the narrator of True Middle on Blissard. "There is no insurance policy for a life wasted", true poetry. He is colaborating with a band called Alpaca Ensamble from Trondheim, and you can check out their music here: http://www.myspace.com/alpacaensemble

hi

i found a guitar while cleaning out the attic, and since i don't know the first thing about playing one, i thought i might just sell it. thing is that i can't find this one anywhere on the internet. i find similar guitars, but not this exact one.
then i thought of you guys. people interested in music often play themselves, so why not try here, at least i might learn something about my newly found axe. (well more like a box but who would call their guitar a box? i know i wouldn't)

here's a couple pictures:

anybody knows what this might be worth?
i have no clue to how old it is, but it looks really nice and has a good feel to it. even though it has no strings and there's a part missing, i've been told.

so anybody interested?
or does anybody know anything about this?

all kinds of help will be greatly appreciated.

This is a thank you post for all the great music via Motorpsycho. I live for live music and my in-ability to see MP live more is a bummer. I want to thank the Psychonauts that have always been friendly and helpful. The past year and a half have been just monsterous for me. And music is what keeps me going, especially live. Having access to live MP is a gift I can-not overstate. Smack dab in the middle of the past years trials I was able to get over and see a big chunck of the LLM tour. It blew away my expectations.(as overheard, "I came expecting a glass of water and was given an ocean") So thanks to the intrepid Archivists and those that honorably keep the sounds alive. Rock on!Thanks to the boys in the band who keep on keepin' on. And thanks to Stickman and Rune Gramm... we are all in your debt.

Now if i can just gtet into a band and move to Europe I could see and play to my hearts content. I would give up the next year of concerts in Seattle for one Oya fest like this last one.

I will probably be attending this years Nødutgangfestival in Bodø with one of my more avant-garde projects. While browsing through the artists booked for the festival, i came across this band. See anything familiar? ->

DEL is a Norwegian drone-space-freak-psychedelic-noise-out-rock band formed in 1996.Kjell Runar "Killer" Jenssen had been a founding member of Motorpsycho, playing drums on their first two releases, Maiden Voyage (1990) and Lobotomizer (1991). He had also been involved in numerous other bands, including Swamiis. Per Gisle Galåen was playing in Slowburn and lots of other bands. Lasse Marhaug had been doing solo noise music for many years and was also involved in the group Origami Replika.

The idea was to have a band that would obsessivly pursue the goal of reaching the perfect drone. The instrumentation was based on a core of drums, percussion, guitars and electronics, but over the years the band has incorporated location recordings, cello, theremin, double bass, organ and basically anything they see fit into their sound world.

Their constant search for new sounds has resulted in numerous guests on studio recordings and for live performances, most notably Fredrik Ness Sevendal, who has since become the fourth member of the band. Other collaborators include Kai Mikalsen, John Birger Wormdahl, Alexander Rishaug, Tore Honoré Bøe, Audun Eriksen, and Mr. Cosmonaut of Cosmonauts Hail Satan.

As both Jenssen and Marhaug have have backgrounds as movie projectionists and all band members are film buffs, they always incorporated sonic and visual film references in DEL's works (some even too obscure for some of the members) and performed live to many cinematic gems.

--

It'll be fun to check them out and see what they're about

Google translation:
- Experimental and groundbreaking
Bent Sæther and Hans Magnus Ryan MP was Saturday evening awarded Tono Edward award before they completed this year's Øya Festival.

- Their music makes use of rock's energy and format, but it adds an experimental and ground-breaking term, said paying the price Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Raktje front of an expected full-island audience.
50 000 NOK

Bent Sæther and Hans Magnus Ryan won the prize in the class of popular music for the album "Child of the Future." Edward Prize consists of Bruno Oldanis unique trophy, a diploma and 50,000 kroner. A bit embarrassed were the two when the price was handed out on stage right before the concert that they probably were pretty nervous in the first place.

- I'll buy potato chips and soda for the money, "said a happy Hans Magnus Ryan from the stage.

Read jury in its entirety:

On the basis of punk and grunge has creators challenged the framework for progressive rock. Their music makes use of rock's energy and format, but it adds an experimental and ground-breaking expression.

The text underscores the music in a masterly manner. They use rock's great characters, both observation and mysteriously, to create images and associations that elaborate musical complexity and diversity.

Through a career of more than 20 years, creators have developed a clear and original signature on his compositions. For their work they have achieved wide recognition, both in Norway and internationally.

The authors have always worked with a focus on album format. The jury therefore find it appropriate to allocate the cost of the entire album and not a single plant. The panel thinks that the album Child of the Future is very representative of the original men's careers.

This year's jury consisted of Rolf Wallin, Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje, Tore Hansen, Dag Krogvold, Ingrid Kindem and Synne Skouen (jury chair).
