Yes, strange indeed. Makes you wonder if it's legit. They didn't even sell out the special anniversary concert last year, not even with the added bonus of the "SOS"-LP and all. And now there are even three other Dutch shows plus a whole European tour to compete with. And then the weird routing of Eindhoven -> London -> Groningen. Hm...

    It seems to be confirmed:

Actually this is the only chance for all "Roadburners" to see the band in the Netherlands.

    Another ugly interview from Oslopuls/Aftenposten

Most interesting part: Bent says that on the tour it'll only be Bent, Snah, Kenneth & Ståle. While in the opera everyone who played on the album will join.

Don't forget Pekka Stokke on lights. Based on earlier experiences we can expect a fairly far-out light show as well.

Cool, the only thing missing is a gig in Kristiansand on the 20th - my birthday.

    Pretty please?

Can't wait to see the setlist from the first shows. I know they will do The Unicorn, but there will hopefully be some other stuff as well, possibly as encores.

Tou scene! I was getting a bit worried that they were going to skip Stavanger this time.

Ordered a couple of tickets for the London gig.
I'm listening to the new album at the moment for the first time - at low volume - but it sounds terrific. I'm looking forward to hearing it all an appropriate volume and seeing the band play it live.
It'd be great if I could persuade a friend to come along as well, but history suggests that's unlikely.

Since the Unicorn is ~80 minutes and an average MP show is ~150 minutes, there should be enough room for other songs, even taking improvs into account.

Conne Island in Leipzig celebrates 20 years of existance this spring and a book is being published to commemorate the anniversary. Motorpsycho performances from Conne Island were featured on Roadwork I ("The other other fool") and Roadworks IV ("The bombproof roll and beyond"). The band will return to Conne Island on 19.04.2012!

So who's doing some shows in a row and would be interested in meeting up?

    Today it is!
According to an interview in todays Adressa (wooden edition) it will be loader, more primitive, and they will be wearing costumes!

Support on the Trondheim concerts will be Mattis Kleppen.

Has there been any rumors about bringing sax & violin on the Norwegian leg? Would have been nice...

That would be really nice indeed. I don't think it will happen though.

I am really curious about these shows. What will the encores be like? How long? Encores as a three-piece? I guess we will find out tonight. Have fun!

    Posted 9 years ago #
  25. yeah, have fun. i am really excited about hearing what will be played the next shows...

@ pfnuesel: i will be in cologne, bremen and leipzig. have even space in the car for 3 more people between these 3 shows if needed.

It will indeed be nice to hear both sides of the Unicorn - with and without the orchestra. i'm also curious about which songs they will choose to follow such a mammoth piece. If the orchestra is staying for the encores in the Opera, they might dust off "The Nerve Tattoo".

Mattis Kleppen is support today (and possibly tomorrow as well). He has played with Bent, Snah & Kenneth before in Øyvind Brandtsegg's Kanon project back in 2007.
