that'll be a good idea man... do you think there will be preview or are you just making a wild guess?

No, it said so on their website: www.nrk.no/lydverket

Haven't seen it yet though... *waiting patiently*

Wow, that's great news! Can't wait for MP to start rocking again...!

They played a short segment of "In Our Tree".

I don't believe it's representative of the album. It's a pop-rocker, albeit
a weird one. I think the chorus went something like:

In our tree, don't you shake it (or something like that)

Also, an interview with Jørgen Munkeby (ex Jaga Jazzist) where he praised
MP and said that they opened his eyes, and he bought their entire back
catalogue after playing live with 'em.

Just heard part of "In our tree" on "Lydverket, NRK. Yeah. Weird pop-rocker kinda covers it. We're absolutely talking pre LTEC (or post IALC?). My expectations were high before this, but now...? It sounded very exciting, very promising. Sounds like MP back in very good shape. I do sincerely hope it is representative for the album. Now I'm exalted!

They stream Lydverket at the NRK website, don't they?

It kinda reminded of Timothy's Monster, and that can't be bad... I love that album!

I'd say this was IALC-stuff all the way. 17 sec is however very brief, but there was little magic here. They could have dropped it.

YO,

it was too short to make a just review, however, to me, it sounded like the popier stuff on angels and daemons (and even the last tussler album): heavy bass, croaky, screaming vocals and pop qualities.

I agree with the latest posting. the sound was like wearing yr smell, starmelt, like always, jr. etc., those kind of song (both in the way it "sounded" but also type of song). but it was too short to say anything more than that.

Too short to make any good judgements, but I agree with the two last posts.
The production sounded more rough than LTEC-Phan-IALC-period.

I disagree! It sounded like stuff from that period. My heart sank a bit while listening to those 16-17 secs. Not what i had hoped for at all. I desperately hope i'm wrong on this one. LTEC, IALC and Phan are good cd's, but in my opinion, their not really Psycho albums. I had hoped for a much darker and more experimental album this time (like AADAP, Trust us, Demon and Timothy). But again...we'll just have to wait and see. Regardless of the result; Thumbs up for new stuff!!
Great news!

I really hope the new album is reaching more after "demon box" and "trust us" than the newer ones.

15-20 seconds which were not too good.
The sound was way too rough for LTEC i think.
I like the sound in a way, but the song sounded not too good and i really dddn't like the singing in the song. But the vocals have always been MP's weak point.

When I first heard Ozone I was afraid of the album, but Trust Us become the last great MP album. So maybe i don't have to worry.

But i am so ready to new live shows....

well, it is safe to say they are no CSN&Y, meaning technically their vocals ARE weak -- but that's part of their charme & character. telepathic understanding & outstanding creativity make up for all technical shortcomings & imperfections.

another great example for this are of course the grateful dead -- how many times did their stuff fall apart because they didn't get one vocal passage right & the rythm guitar was just lost etc. -- but still the magic shone through with every note. smiling smiley

I wonder how Dinosaur Jr would have sounded with a perfect tenor J Mascis.
You guys carry out really bizzare trains of thought smiling smiley
