flick live
May 23, 2006 03:45PM
hi there someone has a live version of flick of the wrist played around 1994/1995 ?
i was so impressed how they used to play it in those lives.

I have it live but from 1998...sound is not that good btw...

I also have a live version from 1998 Folken Stavanger Gig. I guess it's the same as Gaspa's isn't it ?

And the fact that Flick of the wrist is released on 97'EP Starmelt makes me doubt that there are recordings from 94/95. Or did they play that really so much time before it was released ?

Anyway here's the song from Folken Stavanger 98. I think it's quite good, and definitely it's listenable.

To my mind Flick of the wrist is a fucking great song. Another example that some Motorpsycho EP tracks are even better than other band's album tracks.

I have a version from 1996, from the Blissard tour.
Quite a short version too (only six and a half minutes long)

It rocks though! I've heard it live once, @ Rockefeller autumn 2002 (one
of the gigs)

that recording from 5.10.1994 is a fucking must-have -- very interestingly it shows a band in transition. also they are so brutally off-key it's hilarious but still they manage to rock like fuck. "flick" -- this is only the third time ever they performed it -- is quite chaotic, it features a very cool neil young introduction by bent. "the wheel" is very 1980s influenced with some BIG drums as well as a very cool grateful dead tease ("the wheel is turning..."winking smiley. quite a jewel this little radio recording, too bad it's not complete & also too bad there aren't many more recordings from fall 1994, definitely an interesting period in the band's development...

i can try to upload it somehwere, if desired...
