It's here! At last! The New Drummer!

I have to admit that I really loathe double bass drums and I know Bent and Snah have such a good taste they won't let him do that.

Haven't heard any of his bands besides GÃ¥te and they're not my cup of tea, but if he's a good drummer that fits Motorpsycho, I'm looking forward to see them play this summer.

I disagree. I like double bass drum and also blastbeating the snaredrum.
...but not in Motorpsycho of course

I despies Gåte, but he's been in Dadafon (with Øyvind Brandtsegg i think) etc so I think he will do just fine

I don't like GÃ¥te either and Dadafon I've never heard of. Jazz?

For you double bass drum haters, make sure you check out the non-triggered variants by Motorhead and Cream before you make up your mind. That stuff grooves.

I heared Jacco one time on The Black Hole Tour.
Jacco looked like a crazy anime Charackter and was a powerfull but not disturbing drummer.... he was like waiting electricity.
But what should he do.... Hard shoes to fill....Yeah Yeah...

I dont know anything about the new one but if snah likes him he must be good for the Band i guess..........

He looks like a mix of Duff from GnR`s and the Darkness frontmann.

it's not that i didn't like jacco's drumming, but all in all i think he was lacking energy and passion a bit. he played well and straight ahead, but he didn't really seem to lose himself in the music. might be due to the fact, that he constantly had to expect commanding looks from Bent, but anyway i think passion and obedience are things easily to be reconciled with each other ;-)

On some live-recordings (example Rostock 2006) he quite fits, especially on "Hogwash" and "un chien"
But all in all he wasn't the best for MP I would agree...
I'm really looking forward to what will come next with a new drummer and I guess Kapstadt brings some new "vibes" into MP

Trust me.. Kapstad is closer to Keith Moon than to any metal-drummer. He knows how to beat the crap out of a jazzy drumset and make it sound like it's a huge "metal-drumset".

I've never liked keith moon actually. Ok he was fast as hell, but imho he lacked that funky vibe which does it for me.

I was very disappointed with Motorpsycho live after Gebhardt left.
Missing the incredibly tight band we'd seen before, I thought Jacco speed up things and are WAY off in some timings and groove. And the fact that Bent and Snah had to signal to him that much that they did, kind of removed the magic for me.

And why the fuck did they put jacco on the left on the stage? Big mistake.

I'd say, with Kapstad filling Jaccos shoes and not Geb's, and putting him in the middle behind Bent and Snah, he will definately do a better job.

You obviously didn't see any gigs in the autumn tour 2006. Jacco was situtated between Bent and Snah, dead centre on stage. On this part of the tour he also played very tight and did a fantastic job. The cuing from Bent was also almost gone. I think Jacco grew well into the role as the MP drummer, but I must admit that I'm looking forward to see what Kapstad can do.

Yeah, on the more spacier tunes he did a great job. Saw them in Brüssel 06 and they started with Un Chien and it was just huge and wonderful.
But then on some 2006 bootlegs they did the You Lied / Starmelt combo which he just didn´t get any groove into it. And I still think he was just too shy behind the set. Nothing against shy people, not all bands need a Dave Grohl, but the lack of energy wasn´t getting me to really dig Jacco´s playing.

To me Jacco sounded more like a session type drummer. Accurate and stabile, but without that "jammy" quality which Geb has. Perhaps Kapstad will fit in better in this context. We'll just have to wait and see i guess. Sadly, due to work and personal musical ventures, i won't be able to check them out that much this summer. But i will see them at Quart atleast. Looking forward to that!

That's right - I did only see one show, early in the tour (Rockefeller) but still, on the Oya-festival-video, Jacco is on the left on the stage, and you can spot several times that Bent and Snah are signalling him.

I agree with TheGoldenBlissardDemon (omg, looooong nick, mate!) that he feels like a session type drummer, just playing without soul - it doesn't only looks like it, it sounds like it too.

The drums on BH/BC is, in my opinion, awesome. And I was really looking forward to a lot of them in live-versions. But they TOTALLY fell apart live, much thanks to lack of tightness and groove.

And Jacco on the left on the stage? Come on! It was a pain!
