"And Jacco on the left on the stage? Come on! It was a pain!"

Now THAT really brought me a big laughter now, thank you! smiling smiley)

I dont really know whats the big problem about it, but since I dont have that much of a problem with drummer behind in the middle, let it be this way.

Concerning the cueing and lacking tightness: what I saw was very powerful and I believe also quite groovy, but I admit that I cant compare Jacco to Geb, in terms of playing live, since I've never seen Geb behind a drumset in a concert. (I did see him playing the banjo, though)
But c'mon people, he wasnt that bad, was he? I mean, the shows I've seen last year very really great.

It´s no matters if the drummer´s on the left, right or center as long as he plays good! winking smiley
It´s more a matter what the drummer contributes to the band. As posted before BH / BC has cool drums although Bent isn´t a better drummer than Jacco surely. But it´s got soul, it´s got energy, it´s got groove, it´s got something special. That´s what was lacking for me in Jacco´s playing. He wasn´t bad but nothing really special also. And a drummer in Motorpsycho has to have that! smiling smiley

Silly name i know. Just use GBD! And i totally agree. The BH/BC drums were much better on cd then live. Bent is quite the drummer!

do you really think that a funky vibe would have been appropriate for a band like the who? i'm not so sure it would, really. it's fair enough if he's not your style, but i think keith moon set down a blueprint for power and momentum and general fist-raising rock that few have rivalled since.

but yeah, if it's not your thing it's not your thing, i guess.

I completely agree with you there, but where did the Muppet-guys get inspiration for the "Animal"-figure do you think? Oh yeah, from a certain Mr. Moon... So there you go.

I think you're totally correct! It's Bill Ward all right!

Sorry 'bout that piece of misinformation, for some reason I was sure it was Mr. K. Moon. Probably heard it from someone as clueless as myself then. Just as long Bent doesn't go to the Swedish chef for inspiration for making musical stew, it's fine with me. Or hiring Miss Piggy for backing vocals.

Haven't heard anything from Knut yet but I have just listened to the Effenaar show 06 once again and ehm.... Jacco rocks! For a silent second let's remember and praise Jacco. He kinda got a bit underappreciated among the fans, didn't he?

The problem with Jacoo was the "hoppe etter Wirkola" syndrome.
A Norwegian expression which means that he had big shoes to fill.

I do agree that he had some magical nights in 2006. Brussels (especially),
Köln and the boots from the autumn tour proves that he's a more than
competent drummer.

Agree! He was great at the last show on Rockefeller.
