Show me creamy! Is there a MP song maybe with that sound you speak of? I'm thinking of buying myself a big muff to get some power to my sound!

I also wondered if you guys know what effect/amp I should get if I want to get that same crispy distorted sound that comes in about 0:44 in the Beatles song "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" from The White Album (1968). It's such a raw, cool sound!

could be a combination of fuzz or muff & wahwah. with the latter used to cut the hi and low frequencies and to boost right through the middle.

great song.

@ supernaut: I was just wondering...When writing about that S.T.G version from folken, you said that snah "split the signal". What exactly did u mean by that?
Just curious...

I'd say there are two guitar signals to be heard, one clean and one with delays, instead of just one delayed guitar when you do it the common way. So I think he's routing his guitar through an A/B-split-box to 2 amps and then he only puts a delay on one of these routes.

or he has a delay with 2 outputs, one clean, one delayed.

or it's done at the mixing desk by adding delay to one of two guitar channels.

Aah ok. I get it. Sounds cool. That being said; I was fiddling around with Native instruments guitar rig here the other day, and i noticed a feature which enables you to set up a rig called "rig a", and one called "Rig b", and then you could fade between the rigs using a switch and a fader. A very cool feature indeed. I was wondering if you know how to do this in real time? It's quite similar to what snah does on the STG, so i think it might be possible. The question is; Can one use a exp. pedal to fade between a/b? or is it stricktly A or B?

Native Instruments, then we're talking software here? Then I can't really say, sorry... I have some Line6 guitar software but I can't connect a EXP pedal to this.
But within mixing software like Cubase or Ableton Live, there are no limits to such fiddling. But unless you have 4 hands, you couldn't do it realtime.

I don't know about an actual hardware A/B-box conceived for such fading tricks either. Would be cool though, so there should be something... maybe a tech dude could make you some custom thingy. smiling smiley

There´s the ERNIE BALL EB6165. It´s a stereo volume pedal which you can set on "pan", so you can mix, for example, two amps fully adjustable. Very expensive but maybe that´s what you´re looking for.

By the way; I've updated my gear list somewhat too since last time:

New additions:

Soundcraft 24 channel Mixer
A Pearl Drumkit (bought used for a decent price - rigged with mics and mic stands)
A electric/acoustic guitar (bought used - actually don't know who made it, as it doesen't say on the guitar - but nevertheless a very nice add-on to my gear list)
Line 6 Fm4 Filter/synth effect box (neat!!! - perfect for those improv tunes)
Line 6 Tonecore Echo Park (Don't really need it now, since i got the space echo, but i got it as an addition to the Line 6 Tonecore Tap Tremolo (one docking station + two effects))
SLX Audio studio monitors (Great for those studio workouts)
