Have Spacesuit Will Travel
March 21, 2008 06:04PM
Hi!

I have constantly been listening to Have Spacesuit Will Travel through motorpsycho's myspace latly
and I can't find the song anywhere, So I was wondering if someone could upload the song somewhere or send it to my email.

I would very much appreciate it smiling smiley

It's on Angels & Daemons at Play. It's not very popular to upload songs here that you can get from buying their albums...

It' right, you'll find it on AADAP, but only the vinyl version, thoughsmiling smiley

Yeah, it's right, that it's on Angels and Daemons, but only available through the LP-version (because the special several cd-ep-version is out of stock quite a while)
Still, I would agree, that it's not right, to upload the song around here!

Well it might be frowned upon, but still I uploaded it during the rarities-upload-frenzy (aka the "In search of Mr. Who?"-thread) and it's still available at http://www.megaupload.com/de/?d=Z4GQJMTO here.

Fuck the capital bickering and enjoy the music, that's what i say. It's not like they're loosing loads of cash on a upload of that song anyway. Plus it's probably a nice little breakfast to consume before having the big dinner that is Little Lucid Moments! So Bon Apetite!

I agree. Have Spacesuit Will Travel is such a rare song anyway, so it's
just good that it gets more exposure.

However, if someone uploaded Timothy's Monster in its entirety here (an album that is easily and widely available), I would understand if Bent & Snah shoved a lawsuit up the uploader's ass smiling bouncing smiley

I saw a dude seeding the entire MP catalogue (incl singles and live shit) on piratebay some time ago. That's fucked up! This however, is just cool and inspiring. Nothing like a psych jam to prepare one for the upcoming monster. Oh man,i'm so exited!

AADAP is still available on vinyl from stickman. With Spacesuit, Back to Source and Ohm's Concerto. No rarities here. So why not buy this wonderful album with nice sleeve art and beautiful booklet? It's not like you're losing loads of cash... winking smiley

I guess that in this modern, digitalized times a lot of people would consider vinyl only releases rarieties in themselves. You know, a lot of people don't even own the piece of equipment you need to actually play vinyl any more. They really should however, but that's another question. (And to be honest, I think if you appreciate 'Spacesuit' you are a rather hardcore music-appreciater anyway and not the average fuck-the-musician-let's-download-everything-because-I-don't-really-give-a-shit-type of guy. We pretty much own the whole back catalog anyway, don't we?)

I see it the same way as Welsh Rarebit. But apart from the fact that I'm very much a CD/MP3-person, I can absolutely recommend getting AADAP on vinyl, if only for the great 12" booklet. I dont regret getting mine (and some other MP vinyls) even if I rarely listen to it.

BUT if it still pisses you off I can of course remove the link above.

i'm not pissed by that. it's just no rarity and - as you say - the AADAP vinyl should be owned by everyone anyway for it's splendid package.

This song has always confused me. It is listed as a track on cover of the 3CD edition of Aadap as well. For a long time I assumed it was part of the 30 minute single track on the 2nd CD, but the discography says it is not on the CD. Never listened to the song otherwise so i'm going to check out that link.
I believe Ohm's is on this cd though (it's been a while since I heard it).
Back to source is not on this one, but if memory serves, that is on an EP somewhere as well (Ozone)?
Re: Have Spacesuit Will Travel

It's on the 3CD edition as you assumed. Spacesuit is the second half of the 30min track. There's just no index point between Un Chien and Spacesuit. And Ohm's concerto closes the whole bunch.

The discography probably lists the single CD version. No spacesuit there. But Ohm's concerto. It's hidden at its start => Rewind.

Back to Source is on AADAP vinyl and on the Ozone EP.

Thanks supernaut. Out of curiosity I listened to the 30 min track again last night and indeed it's not just Un chien.... simply couldn't remember, I mainly listen to live MP material these days...

It's a shame actually that there is no fully-loaded CD version of AADAP out there. And I mean single CD, not 3CD Box, and including both Back to Source and Atlantis Swing.

The tracklisting could look something like this:
1. Sideway Spiral I
2. You lied
3. Heartattack Mac
4. PPPP
5. In the Family
6. Un Chien
7. Back to Source
8. Spacesuit
9. Ohms Concerto
10. Sideway II
11. Like always
12. Stalemate
13. Starmelt
14. Timothys Monster
15. Atlantis Swing

Would clock in at 79:53, just right for a CD. smiling smiley

It still pisses me off somehow that this album was (as is the Daemon Box) released so fragmented. Well at least DB is available in full on vinyl (although not widespread and easily anymore). They should really think of compiling those two albums the same way as they did with The Tussler. But I know it wont be that easy with DB.

I agree with the fragmented releases thing. I'm not a vinyl person myself and have always been sort of envious of the extra material they got (DemonBox). Like the fancy covers are not enough already smiling smiley
On the other hand, I do like special releases a lot, the 3cd box is one of the nicest packages I have. The only thing I dislike is if you have to buy multiple versions simply to get access to all songs...
