Listening right now and there's so much energy. And I love the king crimson reference in the first song. Nice guitars... and the best bass sound ever is back!

What do you think of it then? Are the 4 long songs interesting enough to justify their lengths?

Listening to the last song now. I think it's really good. It isn't as 'experimental' as I thought it would be though. But I like the lenght of the songs. There are many 'build-ups'. My first thought was that it reminds me a little of 'close to the edge' by yes. Maybe that's not a good thing for everyone... It's mainly the guitars that reminds me of yes. I don't know... It's so much to take in. But I really like it.

Damn. !!! I wasn't at home when the postman arrived, and since I ordered the LP, I just had a ticket in my post box, to pick it up tommorow morning.

Whaaaoooooow!!!

Got my vinyl! Insanely, truly, wonderfully, PERFECT! Only listen to the first side of the first disc tough. Good old TRUST US "Traktorbass" is back and it sounds awesome! Some really cool and intricate Grateful deadish jamming but more heavy of course..

Got it on glorious thick vinyl! The coverart looks great, but I can't find the motorpsycho tattoo anywhere. Looks like they've skipped it this time. Most important, the record sounds really great! Snah's voice is better than ever, he's almost surpassing Bent as a singer these days.

First impressions:

The title track is just fucking awesome. I was wondering how they'd pull it off after hearing the live-version. The studio-version is superior. The coda is
Yes/King Crimson-prog, but oh so beautiful.

Year Zero, written by Snah alone, is another standout. Has the most mellow parts on the album, and the most prominent mellotron playing. And the ending jam is just plain beautiful.

She Left On The Sun Ship is the only track on the album that feels overlong (14 minutes). The long instrumental outro jam is too monotone and shoulda been edited down. But the rocking first part is very good.

The Alchemyst starts off very ambient, then turns veeery psychedelic with an awesome main melody. Then some more jamming before an unusual but great coda.

This album has actaully quite little vocals and lyrics. I have no idea how they'll pull this off live, but time will show...

Was hoping for a package in the mailbox after work today, but sadly....no lucid moments for me yet! But by the looks of things, i'm in for a real treat! Otherdemons brief review sounds more then promising! Keeping my balls crossed for a psychedelic mailman knocking on my door tomorrow!

For Norwegians who haven't got a hold of the CD, yet: Harald Are Lund is going to play a good deal from the new record tonight on his program on P3. Dunno when though.. Sometime between now and 23.00, obviously. He usually plays a good deal of interesting, new music so it's always worth to tune in, even if you'll have to wait a bit to hear Motorpsycho.
