I downed this frim Dime ( i think - have had it for a while now). Yes, it's in MP3, but in 224 kbps and in Stereo. Actually listening to STG from that show now, and though abit "dirty", it still sounds quite good.
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts

mmhhh if you downloaded this from dime, you dont loaded it as mp3, right?
and you shouldn't share it with other's as mp3 I think.
we had this discussion here during the bh/bc tour.
the taper's generaly won't that their recordings circulate as compressed versions.
and we should respect this, I think.
on the other hand, we are wondering that there are only two recordings on dime of the current tour so far. ok to split, mastering and so takes a lot of time
and maybe there will more come, but perhaps some tapers are pissed off that
a lot of people do what they want with the recordings and so they stoped the
i-net spreading of their recordings.
I don't hope so.
please think about this problem again.

Well that's all fine and dandy, except this show isn't taped by an audience member! It was a radio broadcasted show (see topic name!). Also, i'm not sure if i got it from dime in the first place. I'vce had uit for quite some time, and can't always keep track of where i found what,, as i've got a bunch of shows. Becides, i've always thought tjhat it was up to ppl to decide for them selves. If they don't want the show, then just don't download it!

Further more; This recording isn't any longer avaliable on Dime. So until someone manages to put a better recording out here (if there is one), this'll have to do.

Thanx alot for the Quartgig, GBD. I'm listening to it right now smiling smiley
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts

Don't mention it! Is the quality to your satisfaction? (Note: I haven't done anything with this recording - it's just as it was when i downloaded it!)
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts

It's good enough, but the Rockefellergigs are way better. Btw whats that clip towards the end of Nothing to Say?
And GBD, dp you know how many FM recordings there are of MP in Norway?
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts
May 31, 2008 11:27AM
I wish i did, but sadly no! But by counting, i would say 6-7. Atleast that's how many i know about! Do you have the Øya Festival 2002 recording? A good one, eventhough it's in mp3 and with only 120 kbps. Highly audible, and smooth as hell. Some great versions of Tristano and Whip that ghost on there. Interested?
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts

I don't have it. Sounds good! Would you care to share it? grinning smiley

No problem. I'm at work now, but i'll see about upping later this afternoon. So tell me, what other radio shows do you have then?
hehe har du noe jeg ikke har kanskje?smiling smiley

Forresten. Tar dette på norsk så jeg ikke blir lynsja. Jeg sprita opp Tilburg opptaket her for etpar år siden (litt ekstra diskant + +).

You mean that ugly synth-music? That was a radio-station that
somehow came through the PA because of some interference.

FM-recordings I know of MP in Norway.

1993 Landbrukshøgskolen, Ås
1994 Sentrum Scene(?), Oslo
1996 Rockefeller, Oslo
1996 Quart, Kristiansand
1997 Rockefeller, Oslo
1998 Folken, Stavanger
2000 Rockefeller, Oslo
2001 Rockefeller, Oslo
2002, Øyafestivalen, Oslo
Probably a couple more too that I forgot.

NRK also broadcast both the Roskilde-performances in '93 and '99.

I've got the Sentrum Scene gig. And i don't think it's a radio show. Much too lousy quality for that. By the way. I've also got the Landbruks show. But it's only 3 songs. Is this correct?

Also, that ugly synth music sounds like Boy George. aaargh! Get out of my magic, you freak!

According to this page http://motorpsycho.fix.no/musicbox/broadcasts/
Sentrum Scene 1994 was a radio-broadcast.

back onto the good old mp3 discussion: i know there are people who do not share their recordings because they don't want them to flood the internet as mp3s. so, if anything, respecting taper's wishes would be good as it would allow these recordings would be shared. and in my view this includes radio broadcasts.
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts
June 01, 2008 03:15AM
So in other words i should deprive people of these recordings, even though they've clearly stated that they want them, and can't get them anywhere else (for the time being atleast), just because someone might be offended by the fact that the quality might differ slightly from the original source? Pardon me, but i don't understand this logic at all. I though the whole point of recording shows was to spread the good music for curious ears. Not to make fame and fortune as a taper. That's not only lame, but totally egocentric and wrong in my opinion.

Besides...unless someone bounces out of nowhere with flac versions of these shows, i think this is as good as it'll get. I'll be happy to remove them if that happens, but until then, i'll let the public decide for themselves.
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts

@ Otherdemon: My bad. I confused it with a bootleg from Union Scene in Drammen in 99. In other words, i don't have the Sentrum gig. But i'd be grateful if it should pop up winking smiley Any chance of that happening?
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts
June 01, 2008 03:37AM
i've got the øya-show in flac, aswell as the 97 rockefeller one. i don't have the time to share them right now, but these recording do circulate widely and it shouldn't be very hard to get hold of a lossless copy, honestly.
Re: Radiobroadcasted concerts

Hi GBD your signature is not on the Tilburgshow i have. The Øyashow is good, though. Thanx alot. Four songs! I guess they had to keep it to a short festivalgig.
These are all the complete shows I have. Maybe some of them aren't fmshows, but I'll share them anyway if someone asks.

1996 - Rockefeller
1996 - Knaack Club Berlin (not fmshow, but fairly good sound)
1996 - Quart Festivalen (Thanks GBD smiling smiley )
1998 - Live Folken, Stavanger
1998 - Live Union Scene
2000 - Lowlands (festival?)
2001 - Live Tilburg
2001 - Rockefeller
2002 - Øya Festival (Thanks GBD smiling smiley )
2002 - Molde Jazzfestival

Jonstyle: Don't mentiln it! smiling smiley

Ingmarwa: Ok. Good to know. But again; Jonstyle wanted the MP3 versions (which btw someone else has converted - i never made mp3s of these 2 shows. They were Mp3 when i found 'em). So i gave them to him. End of story. My point is once again that i think ppl should decide for themselves. I know that if i stumbled across a show i didn't have, which was converted to MP3, i wouldn't hesitate to download it for a second. But that's because i want to hear the music, regardless of quality. Instead of having to wait who knows how long for a "better" version to turn up. But i guess that's because i enjoy the music so much to disregard this quality bickering, which imo is a waste of time, as the quality differs so little that it's barely audible.

That being said; Since the last flac fight, i've stopped sharing my versions of bootlegs alltogether (eventhough they tend to sound much better with widening, eq boosts and overall mastering). I've got that much respect for the tapers and their good jobs. But when it came to these shows, my hands are clean, as i have not tampered with 'em at all, and the ppl interested didn't care wether they were flac or mp3. So to end this argument again; No bootlegs modifications will ever come out of this camp, so you can all exhale again

@ Jonstyle: Ok, i have all of those shows + heaps more. Thanks for the list tho.

That Øya-show is incomplete btw.

It was re-broadcast later with the missing songs (Nothing To Say, Überwagner,
Go To California and Serpentine) Awesome show, though. The version of Nothing to Say (where Jaga are not audible due to sound problems) is just awesome!
