Henie Onstad Kunstsenter feirer 40-årsdagen med å gi publikum mulighet til å oppleve en GRATIS og helt unik utendørs konsert: Denne kvelden slår Motorpsycho og Deathprod seg sammen for å gjøre en av sine svært sjeldne opptredener.

Motorpsycho har siden debut-albumet Lobotomizer fra 1991 sluppet et dusin kvalitetsalbum og opparbeidet seg status som ett av Norges fremste live band. Selv om de har hatt sideprosjekter med en fot innen country, jazz og ambient har de beholdt integriteten.

Bent Sæther, Hans Magnus Ryan og den nye trommeslageren Kenneth Kapstad slapp i år albumet Little Lucid Moments på Rune Grammofon. Her kan man høre psychedelica, krautrock, punk, minimalisme, impro og prog rock, bli vevd sammen til et unikt Motorpsycho lydteppe. Albumet er produsert av Bent Sæther sammen med det tidligere bandmedlemmet og samarbeidspartner Helge Sten, også kjent under artistnavnet Deathprod.

Deathprod har siden debutalbumet Treetop Drive i 1994 vært en av sin generasjons fremste lydskapere av eksperimentell og elektronisk musikk. Sten har ved siden av soloprosjektet Deathprod gjort seg bemerket bla som medlem av Supersilent og som produsent for Arve Henriksen, Jaga Jazzist, The White Birch, og Nils Petter Molvær.

Fuck, if this had only been a week later.. I'm moving to Oslo at 24th of August and have no chance to come earlier. Really sad to miss this as I also love the two bands playing earlier that day - SPUNK and Lasse Marhaug!!! That would be my three favourite Norwegian bands playing at the same day, in such rare settings. When will MP play with Deathprod again? And when was the last time SPUNK played together? The world is playing tricks with me. This happens the day before I leave to Oslo, and to days after I've left - Neil Young plays in my current hometown Bergen. Life sucks.

Allright!! i grew up about 5min walk from there! It is a beautiful area, right by the sea.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. I'm from Australia but we will be travelling to Scotland on the 18th. I was so dissapointed to see they weren't touring in August but now there is a ray of light. The plane tickets from Scotland to Oslo might make this a very expensive free concert. Hopefully they play for 3 hours to make up for it Anything would be good as I never knew if I'd ever get the chance to see them.

I wonder if they'll revisit some old classics..

I'm not sure at all if it'll be a "regular" MP-gig.
Could possibly be an improv-gig.

It's going to be beautiful - Henie Onstads outdoors is a beautiful venue and should make for a spectacular happening. The last time i saw the band with Deathprod were the MotorSource Massacre in '95. I imagine them visiting the same kind of improvised soundscap considering the bands recent trips into progressive rock and Helge Stens ever stronger contributions to Supersilent..feeling the vibe now..

Yeah, I doubt it too. But I guess it depends if they want to sell alcohol outside.
But I guess they'll just have to be strict demanding ID if you want a beer.
