Ah, sorry about that, Filemail is a bit stingy on their downloads.

Here it is:

Sorry about the shameless self-promoting, but here is a little clip I made as well, if you'd care to check it out.

Tell me what you think of it, critique is welcomed.
Bear in mind, both are recorded with an acoustic guitar in garageband, so the sound is crappy
Re: OT

hehe no problem on my part. But for future promotion, i suggest you use the topic i created "Promotion thread". There you'll also find some ditties i've made (if you haven't already checked them out).

When it comes to critique, i must say that the biggest let down for me is the fact that u use "Garageband".Are you a MAC user by any chance? If so, i shall say no more, as i'm rather bewildered in the MAC world. But if you're a PC user, there are so so so so many other programs to choose.

Now for the music: That "De Hvem" piece was way to short if you ask me. It stopped just as it was getting interesting. But on the plus side, both tunes had a nice feel to 'em, and you surely know how to play the guitar. Keep up what you're doing man!

@ magnus: To stear this conversation back to english; Like i said, i lack knowledge about MAC. But i would suspect that Ableton Live works heaps better then that Garageband thingy. One of my x-girlfriends is a singer/songwriter, and used that program. And i was quite amazed to see how basic it was. So if you can get your hands on Live for MAc, i would do so STAT! That being said; Do you have any finished music by any chance? Would love to hear some...

@ Motörbed: Hahah that's weird !

Yeah, you shouldn't use Garageband if you plan to make a real mix. It's kinda like the dichtaphone on your cell phone. Handy for getting down ideas. But hey, if you're good you can get decent sound from garageband as well, depends on your gear i guess, and how dependant you are on plug-ins. I'm sorry I do not have anything final. I guess it's a problem of mine, I can't seem to be able to make anything more than small ideas. I'm very inexperienced on writing lyrics, I don't have anyone to play with, so it usually just stops with the small clips.

I looked at your music btw, it's really good! And the sound is excellent. What kind of gear do you use?

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE TERM "Superstooge?" If not, then get with it, man. Superstooges are like, totally cool right now. And it's super easy to be a Superstooge. Trust me dudes, I'd know. Because I'm like, totally a Superstooge myself. So how do you become a Superstooge? Shit man, I thought you'd never ask.

1. Paint on old guitars

For real. When you're finished killing your guitar, take it apart and paint on that thing. That way if somebody asks you if you're a Superstooge you can show them your guitar painting and say, "like, duh! How else would I have a guitar to paint on."

2 Dress a little quirky.

If all your friends are wearing jeans, then wear slacks. Maybe buy a funny little hat or grow a moustache too. And don't be afraid to get a woman's hairdo. It worked for Warhol, right?

Quit playing in bands

What? Yeah, you heard right. Now that you're a Superstooge, you really don't need to worry about that bandplaying thing eating up your time. And if you get interviewed by a magazine and they ask you if you still play, don't panic. Just cut and paste one of these answers: "Lately I've been too busy with my projects." "I still play a little, you know?" or "Oh man, it used to be my life. I've got a guitar that I'm about to put together."

Well shit, that should pretty much get you up and running. If you're ever in Rotterdamk track me down and let me know how the Superstooge life is treating you. I'll be the dude at the art gallery with the Red Rose shirt on talking about how I used to "surf those crowds."

That's not what I meant. I don't care if there's an OT section or not. OT's not the issue here. I just wonder if it's necessary to smear this board with oh-so-funny craptalking as known from every other moronic forum. What for? What's the benefit? Nothing new about this. It's definitely not rock'n'roll or whatsoever. As the good man Hank Moody said (more or less so), we got the internet to communicate and set us free, but we use it to annoy others with blogging, self-indulgence and as a cerebral wastebin in the name of probably something like freedom of expression. TEH LOL!

And therefore I'm watching this with restraint, for until lately it was a safe haven here. But obviously for some it was too boring or nerdy or so totally uncool, man. Let's make some noize huh huh. Thanks for reading.

I agree totally with supernaut. Freedom of speech is one thing, just being a Troll is something entirely different.

"Troll: An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion"

I think you're missing an important fact here JTR. This isn't an On Topic thread, so the definition doesen't exactly match what's going on here, in my opinion. Further more; If you browse this thread you'll see discussions about bands, music, gear and such. Is that so damn hard to swallow? Granted, i too find some of the things written in here somewhat weird, but on the other hand there's alot of things discussed that i really enjoy both reading and taking part in.

Why can't you guys just exept the fact that there is one ...ONE thread where ppl could talk about other things then MP for a while, instead of taking your nagging into the OT thread aswell? I ask again; What's the harm?? It's not like any of us using this thread spread all kinds of shit on the rest of the forum anyway....Plus we all love MP dearly, but i've also come to care for the ppl in here, and i think it's sad that some of you have got issues with the fact that i sometimes wanna discuss non mp related things with the ppl in here...

I'm just curious, and abit dissapointed

@ Supernaut: If this isn't OT related, then why are you bringing it up in the first place?

Re: OT

the definition JTR refers to does make sense; most of the posts here are irrelevant and seem to have been placed with the intention of provoking other users in an emotional response.

i don't mind an an off-topic session at all, and i think some great discussions can be had on such sections. however, in my view, and text should be coherent and have a clear message. some of the posts above do not match either criterium.

Re: OT

It's not about one off-topic thread at all (I certainly can accept a slight amount of off-topic, as I believe I said already), it is about behaviour in all other parts of the forum in general. That is what makes a troll. Also, a troll feeds off of attention. And we all took the bait and went into the trap. I BET mark is laughing his ass off over seeing us arguing. I don't want to grant him that kind of fun.

"@ Supernaut: If this isn't OT related, then why are you bringing it up in the first place?" -- Sorry but this sentence sounds so weird it's involuntarily funny. If this is an off-topic thread, you would normally be able to discuss anything you'd want, right? So why not something like this? Nothing is per definition "OT related".
Re: OT

Ok JTR i'm sorry! I guess i misinterpered your post somewhat. Regarding "Trolls" on the On Topic ..topics....i totally agree. But then again....is this a big problem in here? In that case, it has slipped my eyes.

And regarding the Supernaut comment: I was referring to something he wrote earlier.

I guess i got caught up in defending the right to be abit weird smiling smiley

You're definately not a troll, I can assure you. smiling smiley Perhaps a nordic mythology troll, or a troll in Warcraft, but that's another thing. Btw, now that I mentioned it: who here plays World of Warcraft? winking smiley
