do you know where to get the great deceiver set for a reasonable price? it was supposed to be re-issued, but that has yet to happen, as far as i'm aware.

don't know if this is reasonable enough for you: https://secure17.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/products.asp?CS=dgm&RowID=12&CategoryID=5&Refresh=True&Thread=True#Top but it's well worth it and the money goes straight to the artist. winking smiley

i rediscovered my total love for the cure.

check their live 2005 DVD. stripped down again to drums, bass, 2 guitars and voice. they play 30 songs from their 25 years backcatalogue, mostly their rockers and the gloomy obscure pieces. furious, intense, joy- and masterful.

and of course also the "trilogy" DVD, they play 3 of their albums, namely pornography, disintegration and bloodflowers, chronologically in their entirety. the lighting and even the instruments used on stage are adapted to the original records. 2,5 hours bang! awesome.

Very interesting topic, this. I'd have expected Modest Mouse to be mentioned more than twice, as well as Belle & Sebastian more than once, but there you go! The heavy stuff seems to be preferred among psychonauts. Here two of my quite soft faves which haven't been mentioned I think:

ELBOW - great english pop-rock, check them out!

And LEONARD COHEN, of course...

Gotta add one of my favourites of last year. That one has nothing to do with guitars or rock. It´s "Band for The Buck" by Ugly Duckling. A true old-school non-gangsta feel-good hip-hop album! Check it out! winking smiley
