I phoned to Alex "fillmore"/ "kisshermind" (who is still on it's way from Rostock to Berlin) and he told me:

Un Chien D'Espace (26 minutes!)
Sideway Spiral III
Sail On
No Evil
Coalmine Pony
Kill Devil Hills (with jam!) >
Devil Dog
Kill Some Day
In Our Tree
You Lied
Hyena

encore: Hogwash (20 minutes)

"Before The Flood" was listed as the final track but it was skipped. The show was 130 minutes and great.

Someone listened to the soundcheck and he heard:

Hyena
In Our Tree
Are You Ready
Peggy Sue (Buddy Holly)
plus two or three songs which the person could not identify.

!!!!holy shit!!!!
this is the most incredible set beginning in 8 years :-)

seems to me the best setlist of the tour...
btw it's a pity that the encores are always so poor (always 1-2 traks)

Hi Ricky,

the beginning is really credible. The encores are not that great but you cannot match the great start of the show, anyway.

this show featured the stuff my motorpsycho dreams are made of -- truly amazing, minblowing & emotionally overwhelming. one of the best shows i have ever seen, certainly the best one i have seen them play since 1999.

we saw a totally different band yesterday than in copenhagen. they totally spaced out in every song, all the way through. really too many highlights to count & mention now but the show had the audience clapping, screaming, demanding more for full 10 mins. everyone had glowing eyes & a broad smile on their faces.

btw, "critical mass" was played too. after the first two songs which lasted 40 minutes they could have gone anywhere with their set but still they upped the energy level.

i am seriously blown away. a show to REALLY get the magic of MP.

very warm greetings to everyone i met yesterday & will meet today...too many people on the road to mention them all, lol, good times here! smiling smiley

Hey Alex
this words make me fell good, I was a bit worried about this tour beginning, all that bad concert reviews and all. Now I just look at the italian dates with a lot of entusiasm and I really just can't wait to see them...mmm...no, let's hope they'll use this week to warm up a bit more and to put out some old song then I'll be totally happy :-)

btw I bet the newx setlist will be post really soon as they'll play in Berlin...your hometown! :-)
have a nice concert tonight...maybe better than ever

my notes to this incredible show (from http://motorpsychonews.blogspot.com/2006/04/2006-concert-chronology_22.html)

This night is pure magic -- the stuff Motorpsycho dreams are made of. This is Motorpsycho's first show in Rostock. The atmosphere at the venue is very intimate. This is a totally different band from the night before, the new line-up finally clicks at this masterful concert. They take the stage & create a qiet little space that leads to the intro of "Un chien d'espace". It's a spacy 25 minute version with a heavily driven build-up. The audience holds their breath until the last notes have faded away & bursts out in deafening applause, they're at the band's feet from now on. An equally space-driven "SWS III" rounds off the fantastic opening of the show. The great vibes continue with spot-on renditions of "Sail on" (smoking solo), "No evil", an extended "Critical mass" & "Coalmine pony" (dirty 1970s rocker with cool vibraphone jazz solo) before "Kill devil hills" -> "Devil dog" brings he space back into the show. They come back for the encore to perform a 20 minute "Hogwash". This version goes really abstract & spooky places, feedback & nasty guitar-hooks dominate the jam before they take it down to play with the pedals to create yet more space. At one point Bent places his bass upon his amplifier & leaves the stage letting the others continue the jam. Snah introduces a sweet theme upon which Øyvind plays beautiful Sigor Rós-like vibes. After two minutes of playing as a trio the rest of the band leaves the stage one by one leaving the instruments humming away. "Hogwash" stays unfinished (it would be finished the next day in Berlin). The audience screams, hollers, whistles & demands a "Zugabe" for another ten minutes but the band won't come out for a second time. On the setlist as encore but not played: "Before the flood" (with "Hogwash" being the main set closer). A dream of a show!

Bonjour,
