Thanks for posting the scan Motortruls! Looks great, but a bit few oldies (and no Heartattack Mac or Taifun...but STG!). Did they finish with You Lied -> Black to Comm or only one of them? Wonder if they'r gonna throw in Vortex Surfer again on this tour. The Sunship->KDH->Alchemyst combo looks pretty intense!?

This setlist is what i fear for Oslo - where are the gems? I'm puzzled how MP can ignore so much from their back catalog. But I can't wait to hear LLM and the Alchymist...

The concert finished with You Lied (Walking on water) with the audience singing along on the chorus. A great end. Black to comm was not played.
The guy who said the new drummer reminded him of Animal from The Muppet Show was spot on tongue sticking out smiley
A great show in my view.

I agree that this setlist might not be the best, but at least it shows that
they're starting to mix it up more. And no Neverland in sight thumbs up

Here's hoping for something ultrarare at Rockefeller tomorrow.

great setlist imo, but only the LLM songs and the cover are songs i have never seen them play....so it would be nice if they would play some more rare gems...

but hey, good to see that they play High Times and STG! I also think that the songs they play from BH/BC are the best off that album.

I have had dreams about Kenneth Kapstads metal influence on Bent'n'Snah, and I was kinda hoping they would play Mountain, Fleshharrower and Feedtime. That would rock (that would rock so god damn hard)!
I think the concert yesterday was great, but I agree that they should play more oldies and not-so-newies, and in that matter, their last concert at Driv in 2006 was better. But hey, they were on fire. And you gotta love that KK.

Didn't really like this setlist. I was hoping they would keep on from where they left at Trondheim and just keep putting in some old, fantastic songs like Taifun, Heartattack Mac and Sunchild. For me it just seems like they're trying to play as many Snah-composed tunes as possible. It looks like he's said to Bent that he wants a more leading role in the band, being more in the center of the show singing more tunes as to how it was in the 90s when Bent was the Man. Well, well. As someone said, at least they've gotten rid of Neverland, but I do hope they realize what an amazing back catalogue they actually have from the early 90s.

to be honest, i follow the discussions around the old songs in the setlists for a while and the they annoye me a bit. i mean, yeah, this band has a pretty nice back catalogue and so many good songs are from the past. but this songs are from the past. and so the guys translate the songs to their newly developed style and just choose a few for their live sets. they concentrate on the new and more unexplored things that keep the motor running fresh and powerful. i mean just to focus on the past would mean they stand still after a while. and to play vortex surfer every time makes it more and more a job and no real emotion to play, i guess. so to me it is always interesting what comes next, and i'm satisfied by the songs they choose. but yeah, it is everyones individual intention to tell here if he or she don't likes the new songs that much, but i just wanted to say what i think to this matter...

@der dr.

I unterstand what you are trying to say, but how does that fit when you consider the fact that they have played U Lied at almost every gig for the last hundred years? Same with Black To Comm and some others. Maybe these are fun to play, I don't know.

They haven't played The Golden Core for about 8 years, some other songs even longer ago. I think they could get a fresh vibe out of playing one of those.

If I would be in a band and I would notice that all the die-hard fans are longing for certain songs, I would play them at least from time to time. That wouldn't make me feel like their "jukebox-whore". It's really different when a band is playing, that only has that ONE hit and about 90% of the people at a gig are just waiting for that to be played and talk through all the other stuff (I have seen that happen for example with Nada Surf in the 90s - They could have played "Popular" and left and almost everybody would have been satisfied. Sad!)

i kind of agree with the both of you Der Dr. and Be, but we shouldn't forget that they play the entire new album. That is an hour of new music, which is great imo. I just don't understand why they play You Lied and BtC again and again, but i think they are both great songs. I know i will have a blast seeing the again, so i am not comlaining.

They can't keep everybody satisfied.

We'll se what happens tonight. I hope somebody will post the setlist right after the gig.

It's a shame that no recordings are available until now, although at least the Trondheim show has been recorded.

Would be so amazing if they played Flick of the Wrist. But for now it doesn't seem likely. I'm happy with S.T.G. if they do it well. The last time I saw them play it was a bit low on energy, and I think KK mixed it up a little.
I guess they play You Lied because they enjoy the singalong.

It was my first Motorpsycho concert, and I loved it! Lasted for about 3hrs, and by the time they we're playing Kill Devil Hills, i was soaked in sweat. Clapped and jumped for about the entire show grinning smiley
