Mette Marit is the princess here in Norway and has made a record where she has collected her favourite psalms and made other people perform them. It's just unusual that a princess gets nominated for a 'grammy', that's what's all the fuzz is about.by Laika - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)

Fuck, if this had only been a week later.. I'm moving to Oslo at 24th of August and have no chance to come earlier. Really sad to miss this as I also love the two bands playing earlier that day - SPUNK and Lasse Marhaug!!! That would be my three favourite Norwegian bands playing at the same day, in such rare settings. When will MP play with Deathprod again? As I said in the Roskilde-thread, I talked for a while with Kenneth after Supersilents concert there. We talked a bit about the Albini-recordings and it sounds really good (Some of what we talked about is covered in the interviews I've read after I came back though). He told me how he completely loved the sound of the drums, it was according to him one of the best drum-sounds he's ever heard. I wby Laika - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)

Comments on the setlist: In Hogwash they only played the first verse and chorus, then went into the solo. From here they went into two cover tunes one from Grand Funk Railroad (the lyrics were "Come on baby...", but I can't remember the name of the song) and then later on Halleluwah by Can, which made the whole thing last about 20 minutes. Well, the thing is. They're starting at 2AM with no bands playing after them. It actually looks like this will be a loong and good festivalconcert, perhaps they will even be allowed to play a full 2 1/2 hours show. And remember they have been great at festivals before. No, it's not the complete concert. Just 8 tracks that MP has found worthy enough to get on the DVD. I suppose that all the visual and audio-mastering was a bit of work and that Helge wouldn't want to do that on all 18 tracks.by Laika - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)

Didn't really like this setlist. I was hoping they would keep on from where they left at Trondheim and just keep putting in some old, fantastic songs like Taifun, Heartattack Mac and Sunchild. For me it just seems like they're trying to play as many Snah-composed tunes as possible. It looks like he's said to Bent that he wants a more leading role in the band, being more in the center of the showby Laika - Setlists (Old)

Back to the setlist, I'm really excited seeing it and hoping for some of the same songs when they play in Bergen, but I wouldn't mind if they cut some more down on the BH/BC songs. Btw, did the LLM-songs differ much from the album or were they all just replicas?by Laika - Setlists (Old)

Whoo, I really like The Alchemyst as well. Fantastic song Like it much better than Year Zero which seems like is a hit in other people's homes. Well, not every moment here is perfect, but that is how it is when it's recorded "live". There's a lot of improvisation going on and it just feels so lose at the same time that it's damn tight. Yeah, I really like the way Kapstad plays, as opposed to 'a steady groove' he just takes so much energy into the song and really lives up Motorpsycho citing John Coltrane as an inspiration (in his place it's Elvin Jones that's the inspiration though). His free-jazz take on it makes it quite interesting and there's always something going on when he's playing. I also really liked that 'psychedelby Laika - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)

It was great! Even better than the live version from Trondheim that I've been listening to a lot the last couple of days. Really enjoyed the production on it, although I couldn't really hear all the little details due to the bad streaming quality. For Norwegians who haven't got a hold of the CD, yet: Harald Are Lund is going to play a good deal from the new record tonight on his program on P3. Dunno when though.. Sometime between now and 23.00, obviously. He usually plays a good deal of interesting, new music so it's always worth to tune in, even if you'll have to wait a bit to hear Motorpsycho.by Laika - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
