I haven't found the broadcast in its entirety on the nrk.no site, but I found this: and that song playable there sounds great!by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
and I totally forgot about this... this always happens when I dont notice stuff in my cell phone. so...:/by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Is the shorter "Leave it like that" the same version as on the "Wearing yr smell/Psychobabble"-EP? And in what way is "The Wheel" edited? Hopefully no fade-out?by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Inspired by this thread, I listened to Timothys Monster yesterday and I think picking out Giftland is pretty random. You could've chosen any other song off this album and declare it the best and favourite song of all time, it would work on nearly all tracks.by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
@gert: yap I've seen that concert by Can (the DVD box was unfortunately veeery expensive) and I gotta admit, I found it rather weird. And yes, NOFX released a 19-mins-punkrock epic called "The Decline" in 1999. And they even play it live sometimes. Well actually it's "only" 18:21 minutes long, but it is definately a strong tip, even if you're not into punk (and I'm not - tby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
@gert: It does not matter if it's "cool" to say if you like one artist or another. Emiliana Torrini is quite nice, and I recommend her album "Fisherman's Woman". By incident that is also the only one I got by her. Interesting that you say Bohren is too slow. That's their thing. But they did speed up a *bit* on some of their earlier stuff, like "Gore Motel". After haby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Hey there, this sounds great. I would be very interested in a recording, too. But: Norwegian radio can be received via the Internet using the Rhythmbox audio player. Go here: edit: Oh well, I forgot... Rhythmbox only works with Linux. Sorryby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I am still not quite sure what you want. Perhaps try asking in Italian and then maybe some of your fellow Italian psychonauts can help you out.by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say, but: - this is an UNofficial site & forums. Motorpsycho are not active here and you cannot communicate with them using these pages. - Facebook sucks.by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I'd like to contribute on this, but my musical skills are perhaps too low for Motorpsycho songs. So I'd rather do some artwork.by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Oh I like Soothe very much, it has that certain unique sound you can't even find on any other MP albums. Also I think the songs are great. With the exclusion of "We all float down here" of courseby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Cool, an 7 year old thread! Well, as with most people, my top 10 songs would also be a subject to change. So I could either go with a current list or trying to comprehense what are the favourites over a longer period of time. To meet the nature of this thread, I'll go with the latter option and compile the most listened songs by consulting my last.fm statistic: 1. No Evil 2. Serpentine 3by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I have my list pretty ready already. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: "Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!" -- 12 Farin Urlaub Racing Team: "Die Wahrheit übers Lügen" -- 10 The Wedding Present: "El Ray" -- 8 Calexico: "Carried To Dust" -- 7 Motorpsycho: "Little Lucid Moments" -- 6 Portishead: "Third" -- 5 Andy Yorke: "Simple" -- 4by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
And I thought this would be a thread for posting all of our favourite 2008 records... but well, it may become one? Anyway, awful few records in that list I listened to, I have to admit. But I voted for MP, surely.by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
@Concerning Bands starting with the letter U, I'd go with Union Carbide Productions, the predecessor of The Soundtrack of our Lives, who might have had some influence on Motorpsycho. But that's kind of sticking around in the dark...by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I just went to some of my oldest CDs to check if something similar has happened to them. Well, the first CD I remember owning, "Dangerous" by Michael Jackson is now 17 years old and still working quite fine. Some scratches, but nothing more than that. I have to admit though that I haven't touched that record in a lot of years. The two "Use your Illusion"-CDs by Guns N Rosesby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
As I am having my Black Metal days (still, somehow - it really fits the Winter), I currently enjoy ColdWorld, a German BM solo project, who combines BM very very great with ambient music. His latest record, "Melancholie²" is a recommendation. There are superb soundscapes on there. Also very nice are Wyrd from Finland. They mostly write very melodic stuff, but tend to get monotonousby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Whee, I can't believe this thread is over four years old now - but I had a dream involving Motorpsycho today too and I wanted to share it with you. Bent was giving a acoustic solo show at a nice little place. The audience was not exeeding 50, and we all were sitting - and so was he. The stage was elevated just a little bit, not even a half meter. I know he started out with Hey Jane, strummedby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
You're definately not a troll, I can assure you. Perhaps a nordic mythology troll, or a troll in Warcraft, but that's another thing. Btw, now that I mentioned it: who here plays World of Warcraft?by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
It's not about one off-topic thread at all (I certainly can accept a slight amount of off-topic, as I believe I said already), it is about behaviour in all other parts of the forum in general. That is what makes a troll. Also, a troll feeds off of attention. And we all took the bait and went into the trap. I BET mark is laughing his ass off over seeing us arguing. I don't want to grant him that kby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I agree totally with supernaut. Freedom of speech is one thing, just being a Troll is something entirely different.by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Here its also very bleak Motorpsycho-wise. I dunno about Vienna and the bigger cities, because I tend not to look for MP records (I already have them all except oddballs and I don't really buy vinyl anymore), but I know there is one store in Klagenfurt where I live that has MP -- but only because I told them to order a couple of records. I was on good terms with the people there for a long time aby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Like always, it would be fine to a certain amount, but there is a fine line between both worlds, and in recent times, I felt this line was crossed more often than not. I'm not here to make rules, I'm just pointing out a Motorpsycho forum should be primarily for MP discussion and then a smaller amount of offtopic, which was not the case anymore. Perhaps an off-topic forum would be a good idea, yesby jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I second alex fillmore's posting... I'm getting tired of the random freak postings too. This is a Motorpsycho forum after all, not some place to discuss... well, whatever it was !? - to be quite frank, I never really got what mark was trying to tell us. But maybe that's because I'm staying away from drugs of all sorts..by jtr - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Well generally can be said that even the songs I like less by MP are still good, there is maybe not a single MP song which I would call bad. And as you see, I still give TU a 7/10 rating, so I am far from disliking it completely. You're probably right about the stoner-rock-thing, I dont make clear cuts between the genres and Motorpsycho is of course a band that don't care that much either. Thanks for the pictures and the videos! @vdude: the singing wasnt much better in Vienna, and I dont think they even much emphasis on vocals, they rather let their instruments take the front stage.by jtr - Setlists (Old)
