In my opinion, LLM is by far the most proggy album they've ever made. And these days, i'm leaning more and more towards placing it in the top 5, along with the classics! So my list now would be like this; 1 TM - It's just so brilliant. All over the place stylewise, but killer songs all the way 2 Blissard - I never seem to loose interest in this album! It just grows, and grows and grows!! 3by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Mogwai!!! Q.o.t.s.a. Do Make Say Think Radiohead Pink Floyd The Doors Sonic Youthby The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Didn't the say something about that version of mad sun being one of x songs recorded at some art academy? I seem to recall something like that being said on the band commentary on Haircuts. Anyway, it's hard to choose amongst the singles, because they all contain wonderful tracks. But if i was to choose a favourite, it would have to be The Nerve Tattoo. Title track + that wonderful version ofby The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
ahh! Well ok then Glad you can enjoy our little knob noodling. More stuff to come, fo sure! By the way. Give me a wink if you're interested in the whole cd - "Subsonic Dreams" - i can compress and send at your will..by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
hehe ok thanks man! I've been known for bashing my own skills. Perhaps it sounds whiny, but i think its healthy in terms of preventing stagnation + improving my overall skills. I won't waste time staying content Btw...if you really wanna hear some disturbing shit, then check out this little project Scared Dog ---> Noise/ambient/improv project i've got going on with a friend. Nowby The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Dog & Sky Sounds cool. Gonna check out the album "Lhasa Express". Lars Lien alson contributes on one track!by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Nice initiative man. Though this thread is quite similar to the "gear" thread i created some time ago I can change the topic, so that we can continue where we left off, as my main focus was guitar related gear. Or we can start up fresh with this one. Your call! BTW I luuuv the Nord Lead!by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Yo MARC Thanks for the kind words. Just curious....what did you mean by disturbing? Are you refering to my poor drumming, my lack of production skills or just the music in general?by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Let's have a psychedelic 55 minute version of Mr. Who yea?by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
you bastard!!! I was planning on going to that Musical Box gig since last year, but once again, faith fucked me over. So please enjoy it abit for me too...especially during Entangled and Ripples (not to mention dance on a volcano)by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
hmm....when it comes to dancing during a mp gig, i can't se any harm in that, as long as its not capoeira or flamenco you're aiming for.. But in my opinion, talking during a concert is highly irritating. Especially since MP plays such music that requires a steady ear to catch every little nifty detail in the soundscapes they create. Take the quiet parts on Vortex Surfer for instance....nothiby The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Someone has posted 5 videos from some session in Köln in 1998. VIVA Special is the title. Go here to see the videos -> Songs: *Waiting for the one *Wishing Well *The skies are full of...wine *Feel *Manmower Enjoy!by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I don't know exactly what he uses, but judging by the sound, it might seem like he's using a combination between flanger, chorus and sustain.by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Thanks man. Kind words. That version is just a rough cut you know. Way too many drumming mistakes + the overall sound needs a expensive facelift Regarding MP covers: I've since long ago been wanting to make a "cover" version of the MP/TITS song "Living in a trailer" (unreleased track - you can hear a rehersal between Bent and Snah on the Tussler DVD. But sadly i haven't gby The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
@ Erdna: THat bad uh? By the way...nice work on the MP cover. Like mentioned bu others, i also think that you've managed to capture the mood of the songs in a nice way. Have you made others or is this the only mp cover...?by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
I choose horses :p Tough choice man! Seeing MP is always a treat. But the new Mogwai stuff is brilliant. The Hawk is Howling is gonna be a killer album, and the songs i've heard (Thank You Space Expert , I'm Jim Morrison, I'm dead, Batcat, Scotland’s Shame and The Precipice) all sound amazing live. Oh man...tough choice! Anyway...norwegian dates please! I'm dying here!by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Aiaiaiai!! Anybody up for lending me a couple of hundred bucks + some vacation days? Dang...i wish i could go!by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Great stuff man!! Although i wouldn't exactly call that one project noise. I've got some type of ambi/noise project going on these days. Check it out -> Also, new song on my "One man band" Myspace site -> "Hope" - A 8+ minute prog/post rock tune - NOTE: Bare in mind that this is a demo recording, so the sound is pretty fucked up!by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Btw...the setlist is incomplete! Track 1 (Serpentine) is actually Serpentine and Sail on, and Track 2 (listed as Sail On) is actually Kill Devil Hills. Just so you knowby The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)

Erdna: Thanks for kind words. That means alot! Been wanting to listen to your version of TOIHE, but sadly, the download page is out of wack. Atleast for now (been trying some 5-6 times now). I'll try some more later today, but in case of no resolution, is there any chance of you upping it to a different location? Say rapidshare or megaupload?by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Ups and downs on the singing. i agree. But all in all a killer show! Thanks man!!by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Nice idea man! By the way, it's The Golden Core What about this one? "thrown away like that teddy bear kids discharge along the road somewhere"by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
THanks a bunch Rune! Got the Rockefeller 97 gig today.by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Don't forget the more recent "YEar Zero" which in my opinion stands out as very self biographic. Don't really know anything about MP and drug relations, but judged by their music (take all the psychedelic jamming for instance), and my own experiences with the music/drug relation amongst musicians, i think it's safe to assume that both bent and snah have puffed the magic dragon from timeby The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
2 new songs up on my myspace site -> NOTE: It's actually been about 2 years since my last update 1) A Sunset in Solitude: Soothing acoustic guitar piece spiced with some gentle harmonic synth layers, some drops of water, and the feel of enjoying a sunset alone (which the title hints towards) 2) The Cry of the world: a 10 + minute post rockish tune, made as a musical translation of mby The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Aaah that one! Got it! Brilliant!by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
eeh well....without dime that might be a problem. However i am willing to discuss a trade of some sort. Since you're in Norway, the postal fee for a DVD in the mail will be minimal. So this is the best way to go i think. And perhaps you can do the same for me, if there's something that you have, and i dont (videos, interviews, anything non commercial)by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
...and you can find many songs on Youtube. Also Man-Eng (both live and studio)by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
Oh. Didn't know that! Is this full show circulating then?by The Golden Blissard Demon - Motorpsycho discussion (Old)
