Vielleicht liegt es am langen, dunklen, kalten Winter, dass skandinavische Musiker so begnadete Eklektizisten sind, denen man ihre Herkunft nicht anhört. "We've made 'White Album / Exile On Main Street / Songs In The Key Of Life'-type mammothworks soo many times", meint Sänger Bent jedenfalls jetzt, dass die drei Norweger mal was ganz anderes ausprobieren wollten. Verhuschter, melancholisch orchestrierter Pop statt Rock, Piano-Harmonien, schmissige Bläser, Hammond-Orgel, glamouröser Gesang, vertrackte Rhythmen. Dennoch: Beatles, Randy Newman, Elvis Costello vielleicht.
