Yeah! Short setlist! I want my money back!
They just played the fucking Golden Core as encore!
First song: K9
Yeah! Flick of the wrist. I love that song.
Feel as only encore and final song feels (no pun intended) kinda strange though.
As I said, dime is not illegal in any way, so there is no risk involved, if that is your concern.
There are some soundboards from over the years, but I don't know exactly which. There are also some really good audience recordings, too. MP has been and is followed by some really good tapers, also the band has been quite taper friendly.
Usually you can check a sample on dime. I don't know how picky you are about sound quality.
Not all recordings will still have seeders, but there are always people reposting older recordings. Just check it out.
Welcome Psychonaut!
If you don't own it already, you HAVE to get Timothy's Monster! For a lot of people this is the best album they ever did.
Also Blissard and Angels and Daemons at play are essential!
If you want to listen to loads of their live stuff, you can find it on dimeadozen (if you don't know that site, it is a non-illegal torrent site for the sharing of live recordings).
Regarding Bowie: Of course the hits got chosen, but in my town some song was voted at No 3 and he didn't play it. So I guess Bowie didn't care much for these polls.
Was a good gig anyway. I was teenager and the only Bowie fan in my class. I was considering myself way above my mates in musical taste.
Maybe they are afraid that they will have to play the Golden Core every night! 😀
I remember that Bowie (around 1990) pretended to do something similar. Each city got 5 songs to choose, but he just assumed that people will always choose songs he'd play anyway. Where I lived back then, he didn't play the song that was chosen on place 3 of 5.
"I'm still wearing your smell" has a really romantic meaning to me. I don't know, if the song has this in mind.
Neverland! Most dreadful MP song ever!
The Tower gets 8/10 at Plattentests (German)
My impressions from yesterday:
When I arrived, I thought "Oh no, what a Hillbilly out of town disco bunker!", but the venue is acually alright. Sound was good (but for my ears (with protection) way too loud especially towards the end of the show) and it was not packed, very comfy.
Nice mix of old and new songs. My personal highlights: Junior, Waiting Game, Watersound, Feedtime and HBM 2. Liked the gig way better than Hamburg last year. Sometimes this all out rock stomping gets a bit boring for me, although the Hogwash riff never fails to bring a smile to my face! When they played Jr. I thought "That's what I miss a bit in recent years: These fine somewhat poppier tunes that they have written over the years."
Year Zero is becoming my new Go to California. I have just heard it to much over the years at MPs shows. Would have really liked Superstooge instead.
Big Black Dog does not impress me much. Bent's screaming just doesn't do it for me. HBM 2 is really good, though! Great buildup and diversity!
All in all, I am still sorry that they didn't play the Schlachthof in Bremen this tour (Jazzahead festival taking up all clubs in Bremen), but I am glad I went to Osnabrück instead.
Closed! Ticket went to another Psychonaut…

They don't think too much of it 6/10
Because Bremen seems much better…
