Thanks for that link, marc. The same homepage also has the track lengths:
Hell (part 1-3) (9:47)
August (4:52)
Barleycorn (Let It Come/Let It Be) (7:18)
Ratcatcher (17:10)
The Afterglow (5:57)
Total: 46 mins
So with the exception of Ratcatcher, more normal track lengths this time.
I won't commment too much about the musical content based on snippets, but they've really built my hopes up! The only thing I'm not too happy about is SPOILER AHEAD
that Hell, part 1-3 seems to be a lot slower than the live versions they played.

How do you follow up such an artistically and commercially successful venture as â€ÂThe Death Defying Unicornâ€Â? First of all by just being Motorpsycho, a band that for close to 25 years have done whatever they want to without considering trends, career moves or expectations.
For â€ÂStill Life With Eggplant†they assembled some 20 songs of what Bent Sæther calls â€Âother musicâ€Â, simply songs from the last three years that didn´t suit the Unicorn but refused to be ignored. In October the band entered Brygga Studio in Trondheim for the first time in many, many moons, this being the studio where they recorded a few of their first albums (“Sootheâ€Â, “Demon Box†and “Timothy's Monsterâ€Â) some twenty years ago.
This time the core trio was augumented by guitarist Reine Fiske. Best known for his work in Swedish psych-combos Dungen and The Amazing, Reine is an old acquaintance of the band, and his recent exploits with Ståle Storløkken's Elephant9 made the pairing seem like a potentially interesting one for Motorpsycho as well. The fruits of Reine's involvement, as presented on this album, speak for themselves: his fingerpicking dexterity on the acoustic guitar provides both “Barleycorn†and the old Love chestnut “August†with a solid organic bed for the musical escapades of the other three, and on “The Afterglow†his tasteful guitar shadings and mellotron work adds immensly to the mood of the song.
Also available on black vinyl and as a limited white vinyl edition.
The main riff of The Fall Of Troy reminds me a bit of the Black Sabbath classic Lord Of This World. Great track nonetheless, and possibly my personal favorite on the album.
With the exception of Ritual, which I find a bit boring, the album is great! I can also hear echoes of Hallucifuge (live version) in Antics

March 7, 2013 at 15:15 in reply to: i talked 2 god&he told me-to tell u the following news:new album&tour spring2013 #23576According to a source on Twitter who's heard the album, the song August is a cover of the old Love (with Arthur Lee) classic. If it's true, I'm looking forward to hearing a furious Snah/Fiske guitar workout on that one

I attended the Litteraturhuset event tonight. Nice to see Bent & Snah so relaxed and laidback; I was afraid they'd look naked without guitars  Then again, maybe the red wine loosened 'em up.
Most interesting for me was when they talked about Stalemate. The sound guy played excerpts from all 3 versions, and Bent talked in depth about each version. He originally envisioned the Blissard version to be a really epic album closer alàTGC, and a true cornerstone of the album. But because it didn't work, they decided to re-structure the album instead with that fading out, lowering-energy-level structure that we all know. I laughed hard when he said that the AADAP version of Stalemate was used in a Greek deodorant commercial  :

Now I'm waiting for the next album where I hope they'll revive old obscure classics like Swiss Cheese Mountain, Kissoon and Viggo's Wet Dream…
February 22, 2013 at 09:59 in reply to: i talked 2 god&he told me-to tell u the following news:new album&tour spring2013 #23552I actually think Whiskey RNR might be Hell part 1-3. If any of you heard the live version of Whiskey RNR from Zappanale, that one was divided into 3 parts: The first cock-rocking part with Snah on vocals, then a slightly different rocking part with Bent on vocals (not to mention some lyrics: "The devil wants my soul",
– lyrics fit for Hell, right? ) and finally the third part; a mellow instrumental outro jam. Here's a short live-version from Madrid last year:
As for the 4 other songs: I really hope the song they played in Dusseldorf/Osnabrück/Trondheim late 2011 is one of them. That one was really cool!

Opening song. Any clue?
According to the good old trivia/gossip page on here:
A song called Afterglow was played in Sandnes, Norway. It had the guitarriff of Superstooge and Bent sang. Bent said it was the worldpremier of a new song.
So they might've revived some of that old song. Or it morphed into Superstooge. Or they read this homepage frequently, and decided to fuck with us
Oh, and I interpret it as Fiske playing on tracks 2,3,4 & 5. Otherwise it would've said tracks 2 AND 5 if they meant only those two.
