Berlin’s stoner rock veterans ROTOR are booked to play the support in Berlin. Apparently it is their record release. I must say that sucks! While I do respect and appreciate them they usually bore me to death after a while (I have seen them a number of times through the years). What I don’t like is the fact that the focus of this event will inevitably shift a bit towards ROTOR. They are local heroes who draw a good crowd of several hundred people if promoted properly. Yes, Motorpsycho will go down pretty well with the “Stoner” crowd, many of the active musicians and usual supects were in attendance at Lido last month, but I like my Motorpsycho served as a massive main course, without starters and dessert!!! Hm.

Wow! Can you give us a source, or is that inside info? It makes of course perfect sense within the routing:

              25.05.2010 – (DE) Berlin – Astra

              26.05.2010 – (DE) Bremen – Schlachthof

27.05.2010 – (NL) Groningen, Vera (tbc)

              28.05.2010 – (DE) Köln – Gloria

              29.05.2010 – (DE) Heidelberg, Halle02

New topic created in order to seperate the regular MP-tour thread from the Supersilent tour thread.

I figure it might be appropriate and convenient to have seperate threads for the two tours that’s why I created a new one for the Supersilent & Motorpsycho tour:

Sold out in Berlin usually means there are a lot of black market sellers all over the place and once the show starts their prices radically drop to levels below face value. I have previously been lucky a few times this way, getting into high profile shows for 50% of face value. If the demand is too high though this obviously won’t work…

My impression after two listens: Just another QOTSA record and a fairly mediocre one at that. And it’s 30 minutes too long. They certainly didn’t fulfill the promise of this great line up! Although I kinda dig Josh’s voice I think they need a better singer.

Berlin is sold out by now. There was no way I was gonna pay 50 bucks for this anyway (even without knowing the album) but the chance for cheap black market tickets is pretty high now. I think I’m gonna try to score one for 20€ because after all I would love to see them live…

I just saw on Dime that 70s hard rock pioneers U.F.O play a song called “Rock Bottom”, too.

Ps: Jürgen, did you see any of the most recent shows? We missed you and thought of you! But since you haven’t been in Berlin we figured that you couldn’t make it due to work constraints or the likes…
