Norwegian metal, very heavy, dark: Lobotomizer, Soothe.

The find themselves era, spans from metal to pop to prog etc: Demon Box, Timothy's Monster.

Indie- or "alternative"-rock (?): Blissard (first album very well produced).

A little more experimental: Angels And Demons At Play.

Considered holy grail, masterpiece and very psychedelic: Trust Us.

70s pop-phase, beautiful production: Let Them Eat Cake and Phanerothyme.

"Outtakes" from LTEC but completely different, means hard-rocking, straight-forward stuff: Barracuda EP.

    Jazz, impro: In The Fishtank.

Redefinition after drummer Gebhardt left the band (Bent plays drums on that one): Black Hole / Blank Canvas (double-album, some gems on there).

Prog-rock influenced from now on, with new drummer Kenneth: Little Lucid Moments, then Heavy Metal Fruit with some more catchier songs too while having producer in the background.

Anniversary album, vinyl only, recorded at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio: Child Of The Future.

Prog-rock throughout, conceptional double-album with Stale Storlokken, very well produced and vision greatly transformed into music with lotsa strings and horns and organ etc: The Death Defying Unicorn.

Still Life With Eggplant, still very proggy I guess quicklier recorded, Hell saga starts on this one.

Kinda cool (and yes, expensive) sunglasses, maybe a little überhyped… I like the little "sign" they put in the frames of the Motorpsycho edition… 8)

@ supernaut: yep, and there's actually no need to make a secret of that "balls-thing".

but most of the guys don't really want to talk about it or admit it, so i always thought there must be something artificial about it. But as i said i may also not be 100% free of it so let's keep on the rock n' roll, no matter big or small amp.

"You don't get the low end ooomph without some proper watts and cabinets. Fact."

Believing in that contains some "balls" already. And that's alright and I didn't say I am necessariliy free of that either. But there's alot in between.

From the audio engineer perspective you do not necessarily need a big amp to make a big sound. It always depends on the situation. Rock n'Roll is big drums and loud, electrified guitars. There's no doubt. But you don't really need as much as some bands put on stage imho.

I agree that live version of Ghost is really great. There is always something to find in this band you would never expect!

"Balls" in rock music in too many examples is present too much! For some guys there is no difference in having a big car or a big amp (they just would never admit that).

MP is far away from that luckily and in no way it distracts my judging of the music.

Keep yourself as open as possible but it's exactly many musicians in that underground scenes who sing and sell an openess they don't really live by themselves.

Ghost is good but still too depressive for me… :) Entropy really grows, beautiful bass playing by Bent.

Yep, too much balls don't do it for me too but On A Plate is "still ok" ;) , musically Hell Pt 7 also but the idea you get of the title "Victim Of Rock" combined with the video is kinda ummm.. yes… funny… but also kinda "bally". ;)

In Hell pt. 7 from 6:50 on Reine (I think) plays the melody/riff from the very beginning of part 1.

I also think it's an album that I understood some songs under different circumstances or "realized" them not in the same environment. Victim of rock I got sitting relaxed on the sofa although it truely IS chaotic. Whereas in the car it can get too much! Is there any more guitar possible inside one song? :STG:

I love the riff of cloudwalker and cool ideas for example with the saw at the end.

The middle part of the promise is genious! Deep Purple with Bent on the organ!

Entropy grew already on me and yep, hell pt. 4-6 is just really great with the repeating theme and a beautiful non-drum part.

The jam on on a plate is cool. Just sounds like a magic moment live.

ghost… cool produced but you're better not in a too bad mood listening to that one…. ;) may grow more but in any case very cool ending.

All in all I really dig the tons of different sounds on the album. And it's never too much mellotron!

Alright, got a plan: Fly to Bielefeld in may to see MP live, next day go by train to the north coast of Denmark, swim over to Norway, buy the album and just improvise my way back! ;)
