Hello.
I am just wondering if anyone know how many copies were made on vinyl of Demon Box, and if it was only one pressing?
I have never seen a total number, but the first pressing had the sides mixed up (record 1 has side D/A, and record 2 has side B/C). The second pressing had it right, and was in larger numbers.
First pressing (side 1/4+2/3) is said to bee 500 copies.
Second pressing is probably 1000(?).
I'm quite sure that the second print was more than 1000 copies, or I'd sell mine for thousands Euros!
Thanks. I own a copy of the second pressing. As I remember it I probably bought it 3-4 years after the release directly from VOW (but I'm not sure, the omly thing I am sure of is that it was by mailorder), so I guess there were more than a thousand in the second pressing, or else I guess they would have sold out before that time.
Considering that there are supposedly a total of 1000 "Soothe" 12 inches
(probably 900-something in ordinary sleeves..),
I don't really think that there are very much more than 1500 Demon Box LP's.
Maybe second pressing was 2000-2500, though?
Vinyl was not very big around -93 (compact disc's, vastly superior..?), and most pressings were pretty limited.
It would probably take a few years to sell 2-3000 Demon Box on vinyl back then.
I might be dead wrong of course, but this makes sense to me..
I'm not sure about the total pressing no for the "Demon Box" vinyl version but I know for a fact what started the break between VoW and MP was the label stopped pressing the vinyl and made a new version of the booklet (Standard 3 panel sleeve if my memory serves me right, not the poster sleeve that came with the first versions of the cd) to save money.
