Anyone heading to Finland to see the shows? I'll be in Helsinki and Tampere and need someone to help memorizing the setlist.
April 21, 2011 at 18:35 #18382when is it?
April 21, 2011 at 19:25 #183833 May – Helsinki
4 May – tampere
Maybe just ask one of the motors or crew for a setlist? They're usually quite mellow about these things.
So nice they are finally playing Finland, enjoy. I've had some great times in Helsinki & at the Tavastia (Entombed in '04!).
April 21, 2011 at 19:53 #18384Tavastia is great,
think mp are playing the club, never been,
i´m not going… but will send my finnish friends and ask them to remember 4 song each from the set:)
April 25, 2011 at 12:05 #18385I was rather intending to meet a fellow psychonaut than really memorizing the setlists…
May 2, 2011 at 10:06 #18386Have fun tomorrow and the day after, Finnish psychonauts!
May 3, 2011 at 23:29 #18387Short set, about 60 minutes, as it was sort of a festival. Quite fast for my taste. Mostly new songs played with a "proggy" version of hogwash in the end. I hope they will have more time tomorrow.
May 4, 2011 at 05:01 #18388Thanks Pfnuesel! Having just 60 minutes to play I figured the band would play a powerhouse set, maybe one long segue even…?! Do you remember any other songs besides "Hogwash"? Will you also see tonight's show in Tampere?

Quote:I'm sorry, but i don't know their music that well, that i could tell you what they played. It was more jam to me than any special songs.I've seen band once before and that was last june in sardinia. Have you heard of dunajam? really cool happening and very special. The gig was totally something else then, more like songs after one other.
Last night there was awkward few people. It may be because of roadburn and last weekend. Everyone was partying may day on saturday and there has been a lot of good gigs lately, because bands have been on tour before and after roadburn.
Motorpsycho's last gig in finland cancelled, thanks to poor ticket sale. We was just talking yesterday, that it is pity that the band is not very famous in finland. Don't know why.
Last night there was hardly any breaks and none of talking. All the people i was talking loved the whole show and many seem to be a bit surprised. Very, very nice indeed.
May 4, 2011 at 16:14 #18390…and this blog says:
"Motorpsycho on levyiltä â€Âihan okâ€Â-tason bändi omissa kirjoissa, mutta kolmikon livekunnon tiesin rajuksi. Tuntiin mahtui yhden käden sormilla laskettu biisilista ja tolkuton määrä totaalista stoner rock jamien orgasmia. Aivan huikea keikka!"
(Motorpsycho CDs is "okay" level of the band's own books, but I knew the trio live a decent violent. Hours could fit on one hand the calculated track list and the number of senseless An absolute stoner rock jams orgasm. Absolutely amazing gig!)
May 5, 2011 at 10:04 #18391A wooping 20 people in attendance @ yesterday's Tampere-gig. I guess this brings back flashbacks to the early 90's when the boys played for 5 people and a dog
May 6, 2011 at 10:26 #18392In Helsinki there were about 60 people attending, in Tampere there were maybe 25 left. It was sort of a festival in Helsinki (called Supermassive), Motorpsycho was the third of four bands playing, they had exactly one hour to play and they also played exactly one hour. In Tampere Motorpsycho was the main band, starting at 10 pm they may have had time constraints to be finish before 12 as there was sort of a party going on later on (and in fact there were a lot more people after the concert than during the concert – what a shame!). They played 1h 45min (no encore played but it looked like they were thinking about it as the sound and the lights were going on about five minutes after the end, letting us hope for an encore). I think people were quite happy with both shows, although no one was dancing/shouting/singing that much.
I'm not sure about the setlist in Helsinki, it was quite similar to the one in Tampere, which was:
For sure they didn't play 'Loneliness' and 'Mountain' (a first-timer for me, woohoo!) in Helsinki. Rest could have been similar. I know they played 'Starhammer' in Helsinki but I didn't recognize it in Tampere. I'm not sure, I think they skipped it but maybe only my mind skipped it. Can anyone tell me what song 'Satan' refers to?
In Tampere there was sort of a short intermezzo near the end of 'Hogwash' that they didn't play in Helsinki. Anyone has an idea what it could have been?
Both shows were very progressive in a 'Heavy Metal Fruit' way, which made the whole concerts a bit monochrome. I would have preferred if they would have been a bit softer at times and heavier at other times. I was somehow disappointed by the wishy-washy version of 'mountain', I like the lot more heavier original version far more.
May 6, 2011 at 10:35 #18393Thx for the report. Satan most likely is the song "Cornucopia", it has appeared on other setlists as Satan. Or maybe something new?
So the Tampere setlist was this then?:
The Bombproof Roll & Beyond
Hogwash
Satan (probably Cornucopia)
Mountain
Neanderthal
Whole Lotta Diana
Starhammer
Hallucifuge
All Is Loneliness
May 6, 2011 at 11:14 #18394Thanks Pfnuesel for taking the time to fill us in! Appreciated!
May 6, 2011 at 12:50 #18395Tampere: A very special show. It was strange to see MP playing in front of so few people. It felt almost like a private audience I liked the fact, that there were no distractions, no audience-talking during the quiet parts. The audience just listened and really liked what they heard (that was my impression). Very intense atmosphere. I think MP played well that night, I liked the show. Some really nice jam parts appeared. And some really funky parts. Mountain made me grin, I heard it so often on a mix tape while driving car years ago. I am glad I was at the show Greetings to the dutch and the 2 swiss psychonauts, was nice to talk to you!
