Please send feedback. And request plugins from this list that would have been cool to have. Use the tags!
The old forums are here: http://motorpsycho.fix.no/comeonin/oldforums/ and we need to keep them indefinitely of course, to preserve setlists, mark’s poetry etc.
February 28, 2009 at 22:25 #11195One more thing, if you are a decent LAMP coder, it would be awesome to pull all the posts from the old forums and put them in here. Get in touch to volunteer.
March 1, 2009 at 04:01 #11196I like it, I only wish this board was a LOT darker.
…also, is there a way to set an avatar image?
March 1, 2009 at 08:12 #11197you use http://en.gravatar.com/, it should automatically display it here, possibly based on the email adress you supplied. But I don’t understand why there isn’t some link or something to explain that to users, will look into it.
March 1, 2009 at 09:13 #11198oh, you choose BBPRESS this time…nice idea : )
yep, like jtr wrote, hope to change the design a bit if possible, it would be nice.
March 1, 2009 at 10:39 #11199I like the design. I like shiny things.
March 1, 2009 at 11:44 #11200Can’t take credit for that, it’s the default. Fixing the visual template comes when we have tested this, fixed issues, everyone reasonably happy…
March 1, 2009 at 13:41 #11201Hm, new forum, okay. Hope this one will be as good as the old one.
March 1, 2009 at 15:55 #11202Bright light, bright light!
Otherwise it looks good!
March 1, 2009 at 16:25 #11203I like it too.
March 1, 2009 at 16:54 #11204mhh…donno….the new forum looks standard und businesslike…
the old one was more unique and more colorful.
March 1, 2009 at 17:43 #11205Various skins are no possibility? I dunno nothin’ about this stuff.
March 1, 2009 at 19:52 #11206yes it is, give me some slack, I’ll get to it. setting up anti-spam stuffs etc. first.
March 1, 2009 at 20:07 #11207I don’t like it. It’s bland and way to white. Plus many key features are missing. But i guess i’ll have to learn to live with it…
March 1, 2009 at 20:44 #11208Which features are that? Notice I linked to a plugin list. I like this system, it has RSS and tags default, it has a working Ignore user plugin. And more invisible: much cleaner admin UI, I think a bit cleaner plugin API (the way plugins are wired into the system), although phorum was pretty decent in that area too.
The handling of skins/themes has always been lousy in phorum (with bad mix of CSS and non-CSS formatting, for those technically inclined), it was always a hassle to upgrade from one phorum version to another, that tended to break plugins, themes. Time will show if this is better in that aspect.
About those old postings, we’ll see about that one, at least they are available.
Generally it is cool to be with a WordPress product, they are among the hottest names in the trade.
And this default skin looks nice, although it breaks with the rest of the site of course. Will try to fix.
I think the next thing to do, is to redo the whole site with a more user-centric feel, more in vein of a blog/wiki, let users help maintain front page stories, get more admins. One guy said that there are too few updates, and that is a fact, I don’t think people would come to this site a lot if it wasn’t for the forums.
Off to play some Resistance 2 now… fine game.
