Lush new vibes from Youth – ‘The Conference of Starlings’ (Ambient, AMSR, poetry, drone, psychedelic excursions). The artwork might resonate with anyone familiar with Douglas Harding’s ‘On Having No Head.’

February 4, 2023 at 12:12 #41009As an apropos to Torstein Lofthus’ name being thrown around on this forum and that as a worthy possible new MP drummer, I went to see Red Kite at Victoria Nasjonale Jazzscene in Oslo yesterday. He is one hell of a drummer. They labeled it “psychedelic rumble-jazz” (“psykedelisk buldre-jazz”), which I guess is about as fitting as it gets when it comes to genre description. Guitarist Even Helte Hermansen, bass player Trond Frønes and the others are known from a ton of other good bands such as Bushman’s Revenge, The Shining and Sunswitch. I have a feeling some of you might enjoy this

February 11, 2023 at 16:24 #41033@cloudwalker Red Kite is a fantastic band with two brilliant albums. Wasn’t the drummer in Shining at some point?
February 11, 2023 at 17:34 #41034Torstein Lofthus was the drummer in Shining from the beginning. He left after One ONe ONe.
He is also the founder of and drummer in elephant9.February 24, 2023 at 13:38 #41064Dark psychedelic space-jam rockers Black Moon Circle have been absolutely fovourites since their debut album in 2014. Here’s the first single ‘Snake Oil’ from the next album ‘Leave the Ghost Behind’ – now with Tomas Järmyr on the drums. That must be said to be a perfect fit.

March 3, 2023 at 17:24 #41074Nice three-page feature on Elder and the excellent new album in the February edition of Prog (Rick Wakeman cover). Dungen article including Reine interview too.
March 4, 2023 at 12:32 #41075I tried to post a few links to new releases but again my post didn’t go through. Is there a moderation for posts including bandcamp links?
March 4, 2023 at 13:09 #41076@crunch, just copy/paste bandcamp link as is in the text of your post.
Don’t use the LINK button, looks like it’s not working properly.March 4, 2023 at 16:06 #41077@punknotyet that’s what I did, nothing fancy. I copied the text, clicked submit, then the post didn’t show, I pasted the text and had a message saying “You posted this already”.
Curious. I’ll give it another go.
