Aah I googleearthed that Beijing adress and yep, I remember that area. Been there, it's one of the nicest and prettiest spots we found in Beijing. Close to a lake, an area all mellow and relaxed. I wish I'd be there now. We found a guitar shop about there, with brandnew untouched guitars all wrapped up in cellophane. Quite weird. I think it's that 665 shop below, it's been a while.

Yep, it was. It didn't have a lot in common with the BH/BC version though, except for that one guitar-riff. Another piece of trivia: The jam that starts at 3:05 is actually a jam on one of the parts for Bonny Lee which was debuted on that tour.

The melody and chord progression during the verse in Dominoes is exactly the same as what ended up in Devil Dog, though. The Ebisu Guilty Dec 8, 2003 recording is an interesting listen – though with some poor vocal performances.

Article on the "secret" China-tour

Apparently it was originally going to be a bigger tour because they got offers from two big festivals there. But because of the bad diplomatic relationship between Norway & China, they couldn't get the working VISAs needed to perform those big festivals. They did however get tourist VISAs, so they could do those smaller club gigs.

That's probably also the reason why cities like Hong Kong and Shanghai didn't get a visit.
