“Neil Young – Neil Young” (1969)
I figure since they covered a song on it, it should be on the list?

August 1, 2009 at 18:23 #11411Since Albini recorded CotF, i’d suggest Nevermind is replaced with In Utero.
August 3, 2009 at 22:05 #11412For some reason I believe these will be found in the Mp record collection:
Alice Cooper – Pretties for You (1969)
Alice Cooper – Love It to Death (1971)
Buffalo – Volcanic Rock (1973)
Captain Beyond – s/t (1972)

January 13, 2010 at 00:39 #11415Sorry for bringing this up again, but I think we forgot just a few albums…
what about :
Slint – Spiderland (probably one of the best albums I ever heard, pretty sure MP digs this too!)
and
Sunn o))) – Black One
anyone?
January 14, 2010 at 14:30 #11417mr. CB: Kenneth is an old metalhead and he played drums in a tribute band formed for a Slayer day. So I’m pretty sure he likes Slayer’s “Reign In Blood”.

October 1, 2010 at 13:54 #11436cool!
October 2, 2010 at 00:27 #11437(Thanks to Castaway Prince for posting the link)
Glad y’all like it!
After many times of unsuccessfully trying to update the Favourite Album list I thought that creating a Motorpsycho-theme-station is not so bad idea!
It took me lots of hours to request all the songs but it is now ‘in the air’,
I used: the only 2 Motorpsycho-albums that are to be found on Songza (BH-BC & In the Fishtank), this thread, the Trivia & Gossip section, personal favourites from the boys, checked out the covers (Tussler incl.) from the records and setlists, former bands (Kenneth’s), musicians who contributed to MP records etc. etc. and I’m still not finished.
I even put Prince’s Raspberry Beret up there because MP supposed to have played it once or twice but later down-voted it because it stands out too much.
A lot of Grateful Dead that’s for sure!
The station is playing all the time on my PC because I haven’t/hadn’t heard a lot of the songs before. When you listen to them you can almost pinpoint some of the major ingredients of the Motorpsycho pastiche.
When listening to Songza you have to take in mind:
A lot of the times when you open the station you can hear songs (and often in the same sequence) that you heard last time you checked in.
That is a major flaw with Songza but it’s still in it’s Beta phase so the program will improve in the, hopefully near, future. (I’ve send Songza a e-mail concerning these matters but I’m sure they already knew )
You can click the ‘next song’ button >I but that only works for a couple of songs in a row, best thing to do is to refresh the page everytime you had enough of the song that is playing at that time.
You can search and request the songs that you know would belong on this station so don’t hesitate to do so!
It probably is already on the playlist but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to try.
Some artists are not part of the huge database like: The Beatles, Pharaoh Sanders, Sanderfinger, only 1 (!) original King Crimson song to name a few.
Then there are the times that you can find the artist but not the record you are looking for.
You’ll notice that all the albums are alphabetically but there are not more then 10 pages to choose from, just type the artists name and the name of the album in one sentence and most likely you are on your merry way.
Sometimes you only find songs, from the album your looking for, on a live- or compilation album.
Keep in mind:
Please don’t put your personal favourites up there, it is Motorpsycho’s favourite Songs & Album’s List.
If you are in doubt just put a comment here or on the station’s comment section.
There might be a few songs that are up there already and might not belong there so let me know!
It’s free, you don’t need to login before requesting songs on this station.
Enjoy!
