Fantastic setlist… sad that Junior was left behind. This was the song that once got me into Motorpsycho. I rented the Demon Box album, listened to it, and did not think much of it at first. Some days later a tune has somehow caught hold in my head. It's the somewhat desperate sounding lyrics and the vocals. That was the beginning of a long journey with Motorpsycho that is still ongoing. Btw you can still see my feeble attempt at guessing the lyrics on a predecessor of our beloved MP pages at http://kmd.fupp.net/mpsycho1995/
Edit: playing it now… (memories)

20 years ago today in 1991 Motorpsycho debuted "Lighthouse girl" at Kulturelt in Molde (NOR). The tune was just recently played again in Stavanger (NOR) 18.12.2010 after not having been performed since 1992!
May 1, 2011 at 14:47 #19209Living in Bremen, I have been to the Wehrschloss in 1995 (my first MP gig, after reading a glowing review in Intro-magazine. I was absolutely blown away!) and to every gig at the Schlachthof apart from 2000 when I already had a ticket and was iller than ever in my live with infectious mononucleosis! A shame!
May 2, 2011 at 23:07 #19210What, LG was played again? Must've slipped me. I love that song, great to see it being played again, hope it's not the last time they dig out old gems like this.

Twenty years ago today in 1991 "Lobotomizer", Motorpsycho's debut, was released. Very little on it hinted on the great things this band would have in store in the future. However, this album has brought us "Hogwash" which has been (and still is) a mainstay in the band's live repertoire for the last twenty years. The album is the only proper release that features founding member Kjell Runar "Killer" Jenssen on drums.
May 8, 2011 at 18:13 #19212I remember buying the LP very well. I could pay 60 NOK for the LP or 100 NOK for the LP + t-shirt + ticket for the release party at Uffa.
I paid 100.
The beginning of a very long and fabulous relationship.
Sail on!
May 9, 2011 at 16:39 #19213Today in 1999 was my very first mp-Gig here in Luxembourg. I remember being blown away from my favorite band. Loud! Louder! the Loudest! I found this very impressive!

Ten years ago today (and tomorrow) on 30. and 31.05.2001 Motorpsycho feat. Deathprod. performed the "Coleman Jams" in Bergen (NOR) — two sets of completely improvised music to accompany the art of Joe Coleman. Read more about the concerts in The Other Anders' excellent review!
May 31, 2011 at 15:52 #19215Oh damn I missed it. It was 14 years ago on may 17th and 18th when my little band opened for them.

Fifteen years ago on 19.07.1996 Motorpsycho's "Manmower" EP (Psychobabble 005) was released! The release followed the successful blueprint of many other EPs combining a typical Geb number ("A Saw Sage Full Of Secretion") with a cover (The Who's "Heaven & Hell") as well as two rare MP-tracks ("7th dream" & "Sterling says") bot of which were played live only three respectively two times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3_wjEnjpFE

Fifteen years ago on this day in 1996 Motorpsycho debuted "Un chien d'espace" live in concert at Tivoli in Utrecht (NL)! The band opened their show with an embryonic 11 min version which was still instrumental at this point but would later grow into their definite space out number. Four days earlier (14.08.1996) the band had already premiered "Sideway Sprial II" at Effenaar in Eindhoven (NL). Listen to this historic moment here.
August 18, 2011 at 20:27 #19218That's one concert I regret having missed… I still remember it. Wanting to go, not going in the end… Fortunately we have the vaults of Motortrades to help us out.

Twenty years ago today on this day in 1991 founding member Kjell Runar „Killer“ Jenssen played his last ever gig with the band at UFFA Hus in Trondheim (NOR). This show was the release party for "Lobotomizer". Also at this show Motorpsycho debuted the mighty "Mountain" for the public:
