GBD: Yeah I know that line could be interpreted that way as well. But until we get further proof, I’m hoping it’s a Bent livingroom recording
July 24, 2009 at 16:36 #12616I’m with you on that one. Another 7th dream, or fools gold would be sweet. But i highly doubt it…

August 4, 2009 at 19:21 #12621Fleamarket? ebay?

August 5, 2009 at 10:18 #12622Last week I pre-ordered Child of the Future from Stickman. And I was wondering: this means I get the record delivered at home this friday? Hope so…
Not really sure anymore why I did this, cause I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be for sale here in Utrecht at Da Capo or Plate on friday. Greedyness I guess..

August 5, 2009 at 10:52 #12623I am guessing that they wil send it out on friday, so with a little luck you will have it on saturday. I hope for you. I will buy it in Groningen, i hope they will have it saturday, or monday. Man, i can’t wait.
August 5, 2009 at 12:02 #12624You really think so? I sort of was having a Motorpsycho Child of the future friday-evening in mind. Well , we’ll see..
August 5, 2009 at 12:15 #12625Well, what do i know….Let’s hope i am wrong.
August 5, 2009 at 14:24 #12626@ Dr. Phil: You lucky so-and-so!
@ harry & Krist: Past experience learns, that Stickman try to make sure that a new record arrives on the day of release. That means, with a little luck and some help of your friendly postal worker, that you should get it on friday. If not, it’s not Stickman’s fault! BH/BC even came in a day early, and I live in Holland too.

August 5, 2009 at 14:27 #12627Sounds good Thomas. Since i didn’t order it from Stickman directly, do you have any idea thoughts on when it hits the stores?
August 5, 2009 at 15:10 #12628That’s more difficult, Krist.
I used to work in a recordstore (now in a bookstore), so my guess might be educated, but still a guess. It depends on where your recordshop ordered CotF. If they have a psychonaut on the staff and some extra time, they could order directly from Stickman. Following my rationale, they should get the records in time for friday. If they ordered from a large supplier (like Bertus, in Holland), then the policy is usually, that the record label makes sure the supplier has it on the release date and then the supplier distributes it further to the shops, which usually means a delay of a few days. With this release-date being on a friday, with a bit of luck it’s there on saturday, but more likely it will be tuesday – as there are rarely deliveries done on mondays (in Holland anyway).
Additionally: it is not the case that every record arrives in the recordshop on time for the release-date or even before; usually this is only the case for million-selling acts, who have an enormous (marketing) staff and their own distribution-network.
Hope this helped and I’m sorry if I disappointed someone.
Greets,
Thomas
August 5, 2009 at 16:00 #12629Thanks for the info Thomas. Since i don’t want to be disappointed i am counting on monday, tuesday, wednesday… The dutch distributor is Konkurrent btw, which has the release date wrong (24th). I mailed Plato store about that and they said that they expect to have it on about the same release date Stickman has. Thanks again for the long reply to my question.
