For once, doglicksman makes a valid point. The proceeds from the Box sales will keep Motorpsycho floating financially.

And that is a good thing.

That said, an option without the norwegian only books would be welcome, I am sure.

Hear hear! A very good thing.

And I don't get this urge for people to always want cheaper options perfectly accommodated to their own tastes. Arrogant? A consequence of downloading-culture? The books were apparently what initiated this whole boxset, or at least how they intended it to be, this anniversary edition. And they are in pamphlets because of the Ken Kesey/Demon Box connection, pretty neat if you ask me, and a kinda weird thing to complain about. As for the people who don't speak norwegian: don't forget this is a norwegian band after all, it's like complaining that "En konsert for folk flest" was in norwegian. Ramslie is a norwegian author. I find it all pretty unreasonable. But who knows, maybe the pamphlets will be translated if there is a need, though I know from experience that these kind of things are both time-consuming and expensive.

Anyway. Life goes on, with or without the pick and choose customizable boxset of your dreams, Hans Boller et al. (how dare you  )

BTW – Elon Musk should have played Un chien d'espace instead of Starman in his space-tesla, would have been epic.

Next special project I hope they will make an extremely expensive version that no one can afford! Then we will hear some complaining

@mefisto – Hehe, I see your point. We're all fans after all, and they've always got flak for all their spec-editions, right from the beginning. But let them have fun and do their thing is my philosophy, I find all this pretty refreshing and (too!) rare. And why on earth would you (I meant "I") want to buy everything? Speaking for myself, I'm a proud non-owner of Barracuda 8) And A LOT of other stuff. But I agree, this box was a bit expensive, with the shipping and all. But wtf. It's the 25th anniversary of the great DB, a conceptual and contextual treatment, and this is how it was intended, live with it I guess.

(ThorEgil's link above) Haha, always suspected the Residents Ultimate Box Set to be a desperate

try to get some retirement funding for those two guys, and hope THESE two guys (MP) won't retire in a while… Regarding Expensive Collectible Stuff: it can be a short lived epiphany. The object you so desired becoming just another thing on the shelf. (I know because I'm a Magic The Gathering fanatic).I reckon 25 euro for a MP concert experience which will stay with me forever as a warm and inspiring memory was certainly not too expensive and to me worth a lot more than the world's biggest freezer filled with every box set ever put on the market, to paraphrase: "I'm using more than enough already, thank you"! Nevertheless, happy persuits to the collector, if it's your thing, this is a free world. Enjoy,

                      This.

And everybody think about MP and your hard earned cash next time you pay a mere 30euro for a three hour concert blast. And if I really want the norwegian text translated for me, I can look for a solution. As anyone can.

To any person trying to label old Dogman here as a troll. First of all, ask yourselves this, my friendly friends: what is more troll-like of a) being on a band's semi-official forum looking for handouts (in the form of illegal downloads and such) while complaining about prices and also calling the band greedy or b) pointing out that this is very unbecoming behavior?

                      :D

Okay Man…. But i personally am not looking for Downloads here…

You seem to have some experiences in the Music Buisness (maybe) but most of the time youre just a complete asshole here which does not exclude each other… But Dont worry Dude …

It is okay to critisize… :STG:

OK, so lets see if I understand this whole fundingbusiness correct:

If I don't back this thing within the next four days, I won't be able to get my hands on the books/cd's/bluray any other way (except 2. hand) afterwards?

                            Hmm, good question.

But sounds strange if they only make the ones already funded.

That would mean that the CD boxes instantly become rare. Some of them have only a handful funders.

My guess is that they make all the announced items, and that the rest (non funded ones) will be sold at a later time.

Christer Falck (the man behind this crowdfunder) was interviewed by local paper Adressa.no (subscribers only).

                              He said this:

which translates to that whatever is left after the end of the crowdfunding will be sold through normal channels at a later stage – at a higher price.

I understand from this that the different boxes will be printed in the amounts stated in the crowdfunding campaign, and the boxes not already ordered will be sold at a later time.

Same thing happened with his last crowdfunder – a Raga Rockers box with all their songs played by other artist (also one song done by Motorpsycho).
