Since I don't speak any Norwegian, I, too, am totally up for an English version and willing to pre-pay if that's gonna be an issue!

As of now, there are 102 people who have pre-ordered the hardcover version! So it will be released, at least :D

Would love to read/buy an English version, but not necessary with the vinyl copy of Blissard, as I was going to order the CD version …

Hi. So far we have no plans on releasing the book in English. It's a very expensive book to translate (330 pages!!), but there is a chance, as I said, that it will be included in the vinyl-boxset from Rune Grammofon/Stickman, IF the decide to make it. If that's a reality, it might be an English version of the book as well, but that's too early to say for the moment, and entrely up to Rune/Stickman, and it won't happen until spring/summer 2013.

Seeing the sales so far (275, sorry 280 – no – 282!, copies in 3 days), and knowing that the number of psychonauts abroad far outnumbers the local tribe, I would say the risk should be manageable. I have, of course, no idea what the translation cost would be.

I'm not sure if Johan Harstad thinks this was such a great idea after all. If this goes on it will be an awful lot of signatures for him to write.

Thanks for the response, mr. Falck!

                  Greetings,

                  Thomas

                    to Falck:

If translations are expensive, why not fund them through Kickstarter?

Not sure what the going rate in Norway is, but as a professional Dutch->English translator I can tell you that a fair rate in the Netherlands for this type of project would be 6 eurocents a word. Based on the number of pages, but not knowing the average amount of copy on each, I'd say the cost of transation could be around 7,000 euros.

I'm talking about working with a real live competent & talented translator, with an affinity with motorpsycho, and not some lame approach involving GoogleTranslate + corrections by a well-meaning Norwegian who fancies s/he speaks "enough English" to do it justice

Often there are various literary/arts grants available for this type of project, at least in Belgium & the Netherlands, and I'm guessing (not assuming) that it's the same in Norway.

If I had the Norwegian fluency I'd sign up for the job in a heartbeat & offer a nice discount, but oh well!

The book-money has now been withdrawn from my Paypal account. Will be exciting to see when the book arrives in my mailbox
