Mr. Victim was the first one I liked, I instantly liked LTEC too. Same hard-funk thing.

I had a strange first impression of the album: boring. Only one really good song: “The waiting game” (!)

But some melodies and riffs still stuck with me, even after one listening. Of course I didn’t give up, listened more times. It’s growing each time! Not really a big surprise when you talk about MP, but still.

I’m digitalizing it as I write this, so I can listen to it more often. I think it’s really good, and I love that fact that it keeps on growing, cause that’s always been the main criteria for the music I love – that it demands repeated listening, that you have to give it time, make an effort to really get into it. And when you’re inside, it becomes an evergrowing room inside which you too can grow. (whoa, the poetic part of me showed up there :) )

eehm im new here AND very lazy so i havent read any the former stuff really. cuz i am. lazy. been a mp fan for as long as i care to remember though and although i ran away (seriously) from the last show i saw at watt rotterdam (fucking too loud AND too many freakshows (pleeease guys i hate perpetual solos) but mainly a headache) i must say THIS ROCKS. now can we pleease get it on cd pleeeease. Im old enough to appreciate cool LP covers and all but im no vinyl sound purist; i seriously don’t see the merrit of not putting this out in gimmesomethingtorockonwhileimonmybike-format other than giving some sort of finger (there’s 5) to someone who is surely not a fan of yours. so. btw; ill buy it anyway on cd IF it ever gets there cuz, well, i buy anything you guys do. even if i think it sucks. cuz even cool people have to suck sometime. ;)

Wow man, that’s strange for someone who calls himself a fan. Bummer for you man.

After numerous of more spins the record is still growing on me, it just keeps better and better. The good thing of having it only on lp is that when i come home after a day work, i really want to enjoy the record again and again. Also, because it is short, by mp standards, when it’s over i want to listen again. And again.

well in my humble opinion being a fan doesnt automatically mean you have to love every single thing about a band.. i mean, i love my girlfriend’s pasta but i think her fried eggs suck, see what i mean :-)

Oh, but i didn’t mean it harsh or anything, i just can’t imagine myself walking out on a mp gig. And yeah, i see what you mean.

Now the only song i can’t seem to handle is COTF! Too bad they had to end with that one. But apart from that, it’s a MONSTER!

Ah so funny, COTF is a beast of a song in my opinion. It’s all mp pumped in one song. I played that song lots already!!! I really like the development of Kapstad too though.

I liked CotF as that is a very mighty, exciting, raw rocker. The sound is a bit dark and abrasive but then why not?

Sweet stuff! The track that caught my attention first has to be the very `driving, “whole lotta diana”.

Anyways, love it. Yet again another path, for me in a whole other direction since little lucid.

              …still spinning

aaaah finally got it. mighty fine record. these ol’ rockers still ROCK harder and wilder than ever!

the vocal arrangements still get better with every album. the groove/riff/singing arrangement in Cornucopia is tearjerking. and Snah goes all Jimmy Page in Whole Lotta Diana’s solo, yay! :MPD:

one criticism: waaaay to short! geez, a single vinyl MP album is just never enough for my spoiled little self.

I also think it’s one of their best sounding records. It’s roomy, especially on headphones I feel like sitting in their rehearsal room. The bass intro on Riding the Tiger, this is what a live bass sounds like when you’re sitting next to those 8×10 speaker cabinets. A true achievement to get this on record.

Also it’s great to be able to turn it up on headphones without getting tired ears, thanks to non-hot mastering. Nothing pitchy and screechy there, it’s warm and massive overall while not being simply and annoyingly LOUD for loudness sake. Tasty. Thank you.

i think i haven't listened to this album in a year. how foolishly foolish. an underrated masterpiece!

                    #13317

I agree, not everyone takes a liking to it at first. A guy I know talked shit about it for a long time, until he actually sat down and gave it a good listen. It's one of his favourites now.

there seems to be a repress in the works:
