Quote:UNVEILING THE EGGPLANT
And here it is, the big unveiling of the upcoming Motorpsycho album, due on April 12th:
STILL LIFE WITH EGGPLANT
Tracklisting:
1 Hell
2 August
3 Barleycorn (let it come let it be)
4 Ratcatcher
5 The Afterglow
We hope you'll like it as much as we do!
February 21, 2013 at 12:42 #23545Track listing (Sligthly more detailed) according to runegrammofon.com
Hell, part 1-3
August
Barleycorn (Let It Come/Let It Be)
Ratcatcher
The Afterglow
Featuring Reine Fiske on tracks 2-5
And they just barely managed to get a part of the eggplant inside the picture
February 21, 2013 at 13:04 #23546I understand that '2-5' means that two songs and not 2 to 5
February 21, 2013 at 13:39 #23547To me it sounds like Reine will be playing on tracks two to five but not on the first song.
February 21, 2013 at 14:04 #23548There is some obscure song called "Afterglow" in some obscure concert setlist of many years ago… lemme see…
Yep, Kulturmolla, Sandnes, 10-mar-1997. Opening song. Any clue?
February 21, 2013 at 14:42 #23549There is also a Genesis song called Afterglow. It makes strong use of the Moog Taurus. Study version is included in the album 'Wind and Wuthering', live versions can be found on 'Seconds Out' and 'Three Sides Live'.
And urban dictionary has this definition of Afterglow:[/i] A sense of fulfillment, completeness, and general wellbeing that one feels after the effects of a psychoactive drug have faded, which can last from anywhere between one hour, and several days.

According to the good old trivia/gossip page on here:
A song called Afterglow was played in Sandnes, Norway. It had the guitarriff of Superstooge and Bent sang. Bent said it was the worldpremier of a new song.
So they might've revived some of that old song. Or it morphed into Superstooge. Or they read this homepage frequently, and decided to fuck with us
Oh, and I interpret it as Fiske playing on tracks 2,3,4 & 5. Otherwise it would've said tracks 2 AND 5 if they meant only those two.
February 22, 2013 at 09:16 #23551Ok, where are Whisky & Rock & Roll and Leslie's Vest then? Are they under some other title? Is HELL a 20 minutes suite a la Gullible? Let's start speculating!
February 22, 2013 at 09:59 #23552I actually think Whiskey RNR might be Hell part 1-3. If any of you heard the live version of Whiskey RNR from Zappanale, that one was divided into 3 parts: The first cock-rocking part with Snah on vocals, then a slightly different rocking part with Bent on vocals (not to mention some lyrics: "The devil wants my soul",
– lyrics fit for Hell, right? ) and finally the third part; a mellow instrumental outro jam. Here's a short live-version from Madrid last year:
As for the 4 other songs: I really hope the song they played in Dusseldorf/Osnabrück/Trondheim late 2011 is one of them. That one was really cool!
February 22, 2013 at 10:31 #23553I am really excited about this release, but hey i am always excited if a new MP record comes out.
I am kind of puzzled though. Stickman promises a compact and rocking album. Of just five songs? My guess would be that Hell is the one very long song, and the rest is shorter. That would be nice. Side a containing just that one song, side b the rest.
Thing is it doesn't really matter. I like all of the recent MP releases so no worries at all.
February 22, 2013 at 10:45 #23554song number 4 ratcatcher, includes the main theme/refrain from a mp instrumental song from 2001 "sunday trane", that was only played live and had not been officially recorded. the song was also played often live with the jaga jazzists-on the phanerothyme tour they sometimes played "sunday trans" as an opener. so in munich@feierwerk on october 10th 2001.
February 22, 2013 at 11:00 #23555How do you know Ratcatcher is Sunday Trane?
February 22, 2013 at 11:24 #23556@otherdemon: yeah I also imagine Hell = Whiskey&RNR, as title would be appropriate…
@toter panda: how do you know? Sunday Trane was a great moment during that tour, would be interesting to have it in a less jazzy version.
February 22, 2013 at 11:45 #23557Wow, sounds like they really dug into their archives to find useable riffs/melodies.
Now I'm waiting for the next album where I hope they'll revive old obscure classics like Swiss Cheese Mountain, Kissoon and Viggo's Wet Dream…
