I would never want them to cut down their albums. Doubles and triples yes please. I can feed on them for years. Get to love songs I never thought I would at first. Just like Beyond the Flood recently. Some less flashy ones like Sancho Says or Sungravy grew on me over time. It’s a patience and devotion thing. Screw the use-once-and-erase ipod generation! :MPD:

btw, Trust Us fits on a single disc actually. I’ve done that sometime. You can get ~82 minutes on a CD with the “overburn” feature

Also I’ve seen some CDs with up to 90 minutes of music on them (for example “Livealbum of death” by Farin Urlaub Racing Team – single disc, 87:45 minutes).

And concerning on doubles and triples: well it depends. Sure sometime you’ve got a great batch of great tunes but sometimes it’s also better to just pick the best ones and make a homogenic short album. I like both.

I don´t mind doubles or triples either (DB, TM, A&D,LLM are all perfect as they are), but as a general rule I prefer quality or quantity

I have to agree with the thoughts on BH/BC: I think disc 1 is far better than disc 2.

On my 1 disc edition on page 1 of this thread, I only included 3 songs from disc 2. And 6 from disc 1 + Bonny Lee :lol:

That says a lot really.

I don’t care about CD capacity. When I’m speaking of doubles and triples, I do so in vinyl terms. :idea: You know, double vinyl, gatefold cover, two different inner sleeves. As long as there is 20min runtime per side. Those 13min double vinyls I find quite annoying, which became a standard due to exceeding CD capacities. But for LLM I wouldn’t know another solution. But that’s ok, I bought both CD and vinyl anyway. :lol:

Oh, I wanna add that Blissard is very overrated album, it is still dark, aggressive and rather sharp to my ears. I started to feel much better after LTEC and later on till Black Hole.

I’m reminded of a live-documentary about The Police. Sting and Stweart Copeland were not on speaking terms, so Stewart would leave him messages in dampening tape on his drumkit. He spent one whole evening banging drumheads that said “F*ck Off You Cretin.”

Come on guys, can’t we all just get along? Even though we all have differing views on which songs are or which period is the best, we all love the same band. Right?

Well spoken. I love to really dive into the music, make time and listen to an album from start to finish. I love double albums, and i wouldn’t want any double album cut to a single album. Take Trust Us. A great body of work, a statement of art. I wouldn’t want to miss any of the songs, although some may not be a strong as the others.

Not anymore! Guess what? Bought AADAP on vinyl the other day and I think that with the 3 extra songs (vinyl only), this must be their best album up till now.

Maybe the new one will be even better? Vinyl sounds better anyway…
