Maybe they got wind of the fact that the London and Berlin gigs will be parallel to Gong only a Katzensprung entfernt (now playing: YOU, full of crackle during the first tracks - thanks for the inspiration anyway guys)

I was unfamiliar with that track, but wow....that sounds like something Motorpsycho could be absolutely killing it with!!

@boomer - I totally agree. Gong's Radio Gnome Trilogy is brilliant. Three superb original albums. Great music, whacky lyrics, hippie madness. And a multicultural cross-pollination of sounds that just blows me away every time.

@Tomcat - I was wondering the same. It's possible the om riff will be blasting out of two venues in different parts of London at the same time on Friday evening. Enjoy You. A Sprinkling of Clouds might just be my favourite on that album, but Master Builder comes a very close second. All this great music past and present - just goes to show ... You never blow yr trip forever.

The Glorious Om Riff a.k.a. Master Builder! Welcome to the club, MP - after Invisible Opera Company of Tibet, Ozric Tentacles, Acid Mothers Temple and probably a lot more MP are part of the Om Riff Cover Conspiracy.
As a once diehard Gong fan I can only welcome this new facette to the ever growing MP covers and citations kaleidoscope.

Anyone noticed that one of MP's big heroes Sun Ra will be playing Tivoli in Utrecht at the exact same time but a different room, this coming Sunday? They are celebrating their band leader Marshall Allen's 95th (!) birthday with this tour. Imagine if they could jam somehow....In any case wouldn't be surprised if MP calls in sick to secretly attend their concert

The Crucible tour 2019 could be dubbed the "parallel gigs" tour - Gong, Sun Ra, Magma in october...

What's the source for the Spanish tour dates? A quick online search did not yield any results / verfication. Thanks!

Now that the spring tour is over, I figured we could do with an update on the current listings for the rest of the year. This is just copied from the previous page, but updated for the Spanish dates.

    Good idea, Punji!

I am still wondering about the "hole" between October 3rd and October 15th because there is only one date inbetweeen (Zürich October 8th). Will they play France, Belgium, Austria or Southern Germany? Or Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenjia?

No traditional, last two weeks in December, pre-Christmas-concert in Trondheim announced yet?

In other, non-confirmed news for any UK friends out there, how soon is soon? Just a few months as it turns out. When the bloke from the record shop ends the post-gig interview at Flashback Records with the usual "hope to see you back in England again soon" greetings, Bent replies "Hopefully in September..., October..., something like that?" while looking at Snah for confirmation. UK twice in one year, that's breaking new ground as well, isn't it?

@ cloudhawker - I noticed that too. Hoping for an announcement soon. Fingers crossed.

@ pfnuesel, I don't think they ever did Italy in two different periods of the same year, they certainly didn't in the last 10 years. With the 5 dates we just got, I'd say that's very unlikely. But of course I hope with all my heart that I'm wrong, it would be fantastic if they came back so soon.

@paolinogrande001 - No December concert in Trondheim announced so far, but it is still very early.

And the boys will need money for gifts.

The band still "owes" Longyearbyen a concert. A show was scheduled in 2017 but had to be cancelled due to a pilot's strike. Maybe they can find a date in December (or is it impossible to visit Longyearbyen in December?).

Man, they are really hitting weird C markets this year

You don't need to look further than the most recent Belgian gig to realise that folks on 04.10. will be in for a treat. It's even a Friday! Very tempted to make a travel plan right away...

Some info about the Øyafestivalen gig:

    Motorpsycho w/ friends are playing from 21:45 - 23:00.
So no 3 hour jam extravaganza this time

@otherdemon - But presumably it will be almost entirely new music if it is a repeat of the Håkon Gullvåg-inspired material that will debut ten days earlier at Byscenen / Olavsfestdagene. I'm very excited to hear what the results will be and hopefully soon thereafter the material will receive a proper release.

A very short show at Trodheim Rocks today as well. 1.15 before the next band hits the stage means just about enough time to tune the guitars. But there will be STG beer to be found

@Punj: That is correct, it will be the same music as Olavsfestdagene.
I'm excited as well about this material. Also curious to see which friends
will attend (Lars Horntveth + Ola Kvernberg are already confirmed)

The 3 hour jam extravaganza was mentioned a bit jokingly. But they played for
2 hours at the legendary Øyafestivalen gig in 2010. So it wouldn't have been
    THAT far-fetched

Does anyone know anything more about Ringnesfestivalen? The info on their site is semi-cryptic...appears to be a very small, very low-profile thing. The program doesn't say whether they will be playing Friday or Saturday. It's not too far from me, so it's tempting, but the Saturday and full-weekend tickets are sold out.

@shakti - Motorpsycho will play Aug 3. according to latest fb update from the festival.
