Something old but new: Nick Mason‘s Saucerful of Secrets Live at the Roundhouse. For everyone who loves early Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd. Released as music only on vinyl or as a 3-disc concert film.

Thanks for the tip, Kid A - amazing concert! BTW it's also released on Blu-Ray.

    Rymden - 2020 - Space Sailors

    https://rymden3.bandcamp.com/album/space-sailors

RYMDEN – The new super group of three major minds in European music history.
The music of RYMDEN is based on 3 elements: melancholic & atmospheric songwriting, dramatically charged rhythms & virtuosity of jazz playing of the highest level.
In this new band formation, the influences of modern jazz, Bach, film music and progressive rock music are clearly audible.

I saw Rymden at Moldejazz last year (a few pics here) Amazing band that absolutely must be experience live.

Just have to put this video by I Like To Sleep out somewhere - everybody should be able to hear some connection to the mothership.

@ Spacebandit - rather liking this Temple Fang album - reminds me quite a bit of Color Haze. Thanks for the recommendation.

@ Punj Lizard: Yes, Temple Fang are great. They would've played Alterna Sounds in
my old hometown Muenster (Germany) last April, but are rescheduled for next year.
Colour Haze - good friends of mine. My sole "Corona-time" show was their concert in
Dortmund late September. Outdoors, fucking cold, but the band graced us with a
marvellous show @ full moon. Way cool. Unfortunately no long chats with Stefan and
    Philipp as usual...

Not exactly the right topic, should be rather "new TV", or "motorpsycho on TV" - just started to watch the serial "Twins" and what do we hear within the first minute? Motorpsycho! What a Big Surprise Now even more excited to watch it, German only unfortunately online on ARD (German public TV) :-/

Amazing new instrumental/jazz/prog-rock band from Trondheim - Pangea.
Their debut album "Storm" has been released last year on Major Seven Music.
    https://open.spotify.com/album/4TjbrcGL0sXy3EgSUDHckF (no bandcamp unfortunately).

Thanks. Just been listening to Pangea. Really lovely. Can't say it's easy to find out anything about them - searches throw up too many other results. The lack of a Bandcamp page is really sad.

    Their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Pangeaquintet/.
I've bought the album on iTunes (usually it's my plan B, when there is no bandcamp :)).

Do any of you know about the Malmö band The Mopeds? Certainly not new, but this 1998 release is quite the little gem. Catchy, inventive and fun. Perfect counterpoint to these foggy and uncertain times. And some kick ass bass licks too 😀

Ps: The other stuff in there is pretty cool too.

  18. i'm not sure, maybe everyone here already knows this band. i became aware of it through stickman records:

    needlepoint
    https://needlepoint.bandcamp.com/

such an incredibly good band, the albums grow with every listen (i only bought the last two on vinyl) and i am touched deeper and deeper. wonderful melodies and musical ideas. more delicate on the newest album, more rocking on the older one. i would highly recommend them.

Coolest and most exciting debut album I've heard in ages: Black Country, New Road - For The First Time

Some weird mix of post punk, post rock, some jazz and some klezmer thrown in their for the hell of it. I'm hearing Slint, Steve Reich, Swans and lot's of other stuff. But oh boy, I'm having fun with this record!

Been checking out a lot of the mentioned bands in this thread, and have found some gold in between the "one riff, two tones, 17 min.long song" bands that seems to be in majority here

That Black Contry, New Road album was great, thanks for that one crossskip. I think the vocalist mentioned in one of the songs that people think they sound like Black Midi.... Yes, they do
