I'm surprised no such thread has yet emerged. So, what are your favourite albums of this year? For me, it's those:

    1. Manic Street Preachers – Journal for Plague Lovers
    2. Pet Shop Boys – Yes
    3. Terry de Castro – A Casa Verde
    4. The Dø – A Mouthful
    5. Nancy Elizabeth – Wrought Iron
    6. NOFX – Coaster
    7. Bad Lieutenant – Never Cry Another Tear
    8. Wardruna – Runaljod: Gap var Ginnunga
    9. Shining – VI / Klagopsalmer
    10. Yo La Tengo – Popular Songs

Genre info: MSP is alternative rock, PSB is pop, TdC is americana & folk, Dø is pop, rock, folk & triphop, Nancy is folk, NOFX is punk, BL is pop & rock, Wardruna is nordic folk & ambient, Shining is black metal & YLT is alternative & psychedelic rock.

Motorpsycho - Child of the Future
    Them Crooked Vultures - s/t
    Jarvis Cocker - Further Complications

editeditediting, how could I forget Future of the left! I saw them live this year. Usually I'm bored by now by 80ies/90ies omygodtheworldsuckswhatamItodo? hardcore but they delivered with lots of funny inbetween songs banter. Goofy brits on Tour for too long. Which is mostly a good thing.
