I just stole the jpg from the Big Dipper release event on FB. Motorpsycho have been selling posters on tour before, so I guess it might happen again.

Question: on amazon it's not possible to download the inividual eggplant tracks. They're all "album only". So how much say has amazon in this? I do suspect that the (indielabelled, at least) artist has complete authority on this, but I'd like to know.... That would be great by itself and of course by Motorpsycho if they set that so then.

After the first two rounds, I would say it's a good album, but not a highlight like llm, hmf & tddu.
Like gyankumar wrote before, there is nothing new.
Even tough the music is totally different, maybe it is the "second barracuda".
    Time will tell.
But I'm sure the songs will work live very well.

i think it has to do with the fact that it's a 5 tracks album and one lasts for 17 minutes...if you buy each of the five tracks for 0,99 cents (i think these are the prices on amazon, right?) it would be cheaper than the whole album for, i assume, 9,99 euros...

SPOILERS AHEAD! READ NO FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD!

    1. Hell, Part 1-3 (9:47)
Great, great track. I've loved it since the Düsseldorf and Osnabrück 2011 bootlegs surfaced. However, I'm not so sure if adding the Whiskey RNR outro was THE decision to make (the original outro jam was EXCELLENT!). It just sounds out of place. However, great verses, riffs, and a SMOKING guitar solo by Snah in the middle.

    2. August (4:52)
Heard this on the British podcast. Initially I was a bit underwhelmed because I was hoping for a furious Snah/Fiske guitar workout at the end (that didn't quite happen). However, it's still a great track, and it's nice of the guys to pay homage to Arthur Lee; a gifted songwriter. I was able to see August live at Rockefeller 2004, the second-to-last time Love performed it live before Lee died. So it had a special place in my heart even before this cover

    3. Barleycorn (Let It Come/Let It Be) (7:18)
Possible grower. I'm still a bit disappointed that the verses actually are way stronger than the chorus; it builds up to an anti-climax. However, nice atmosphere, lovely vocals, and the jam near the end is solid. But for now, I consider it the weakest track on here.

    4. Ratcatcher (17:10)
This track will most certainly be the biggest point of controversy among fans. The Dora Peach/Sunday Trane theme will be recognized by those who have a lot of 2001/2002 bootlegs. This is also the one track where Fiske makes his presence felt the most. INSANE track! Snah's interplay with Fiske here is just so unbelievably cool, and they play so well of each other. Maybe it is a couple minutes overlong (specially the end), but when Bent/Snah/Kenneth/Reine click together as well as they're doing here, I can easily forgive it. My personal favorite of the album. And I predict it's going to be insane live!

    5. The Afterglow (5:58)
Possibly the most traditional track on here, this reminds me a bit of "Carousel" of IALC, only less orchestrated. I generally have a soft spot for these Bent-sung ballads, and this is no exception. I do however question if the short rocking part at 3:15 really was necessary, but I've gotten used to it. Beautiful guitarwork, especially the slide. And obligatory mellotron to melt my heart.

Overall, I think it's a solid album, but it will take time before I can compare it to the rest of the discography. IMHO, Hell Part 1-3 doesn't quite fit in on the album (it's by far the heaviest track on here), but it's still a great track. With the exception of Ratcatcher, I don't think Fiske quite managed to put his stamp on this album.

    Looking forward to Rockefeller tomorrow!

couldn't help reading BECAUSE i haven't got it. oh well...

for some reason i'm a little bit sceptical about this album. i suspect it to be a bit too "traditional". i hope to stand corrected.
