I just don't know,it's not a standard tuning,some harmonics at the beginning...

Tuning is EBDGAD. Intro is harmonics on 7th fret, three thinnest strings and 12th fret, three thickest strings. I uploaded a videoclip on youtube a long time ago, You can probably figure it out from watching that! Snah also used a capo on the 2nd or 3rd fret, but I´m not sure if he does that live or on the record! Hope this helps!

To be honest... That new arrangement of the song is really strange, too strange for me. I mean it sound like two different songs. The things they are doing when they are not singing are like a nice psychedelic jam, but when snah sings the normal serpentine-melody over that sound-mixture it just doesn't fit in my opinion...

I see The other Nils' point, but I think that the bass-sound is somehow blurred in this recording so that's why it doesn't fit. Anyways, I agree it's a cool version, though -as some other guy said, it would maybe be better as a brand new song!

And it wouldn't hurt if Snah sang abit "cleaner" too. On this lasr recording, it could seem like he's a bit insecure about how to sing the lyrics. As if he was doing it for the first time you know. Been listening abit to the 3 recordings, and the Serpentine version has grown on me. I kinda like the more eerie feel of it, combined with those psychedelic guitar licks. But again. It's the vocals that blow it for me ....too

Hi all

I was also looking for the Serpentine chords, but couldn't find any. So i gave it a go.
I think I found the verses and the chorus:

Quote:
Dsus2
Reeling offbeat on the all time high
_______________________Bm
pushing enveloped detoured rollercoaster rides
Dsus2
took a night to remember and a day to forget
________________G
we never bothered talking...

Dsus2
strolling zigzag and around the bends
_________________________Bm
put all trust in lucky charms, beginning with the end
Dsus2
I called up a candlelit romance and read
___________G C
still I couldn't get it...

_____________Em__G
last time we deviated, raving about it,
C______________Bm
we had no second thoughts
________A__________G
I spent a lifetime finding out how you move
A#maj7
crooked constellations -
serpentine,serpentine
______________G
outta sight,outta mind

I just play it in standard tuning. I'm not sure about all the chords, so please correct any mistakes...

I really love this song :-)

Greetings from Belgium,

an improved version of the verse:

Quote:
Dsus2____________G_____Dsus2
Reeling offbeat on the all time high
______Bm______G
pushing enveloped detoured rollercoaster rides
Dsus2________G__________Dsus2
took a night to remember and a day to forget
________________G
we never bothered talking...

as for the bridge part, I think it's something like this:

Quote:
Em Em G Dsus2
zigzag and around the bends
there and back without an end
still your song resounds!

but I'm not sure.

any help would be appreciated...

Maarten
