kenneth is great and has the biggest hi-hat ever! (looks like two big rights on top of each other.)

how long did they play for? assuming they didn't play any extended jams, i'd expect that setlist to be around 90 mins

they played for 1h45. longest concert of the festival i think.

1. that new tune
not many improv. some cool snah solo's here. moog taurus :-).
quite a lot a lot of vibrato sounds by snah on the the first couple of songs. during hey jane more or less by accident. bent was looking quite puzzled at snah when that happened. quite funny.

2. kill devil hills
relatively short. but very good.

3. you loose
normal length for a live performance i think. just before the end bent played the bassline of a song (can't remember the title), the same song kula shaker had a hit with. (nanananananana...)

4. no evil
5. hey jane
6. superstooge
This was fantastic. Kenneth really shined the first time on this one... the jam ended with a noisy part without any rythm. sort of a free jazz thing. amazing very exciting moment. kenneth was excellent here.

?. high time
Very nice version with a couple of different solo's in a row by snah. first solo with wahwah. very cool.

?. glow
nice long version, with a different arranged the ending, where bent played the the guitar riff on his bass.

8. s.t.g.
not long but great.

9. vortex surfer
goosebumps.

10. on my pillow
quite a surprise! i was happily singing along.

11. tristano
very very cool. the drumming by kenneth was excellent! he was very much into it the whole performance. he was given no rest, but smiling all through the gig. very different version than the versions with geb.

12. black to comm
seemed a bit rushed. they had to play this song quite shirt since they were out of time i think. one coversong inside. didn't recognize it.

As always on a festival, mp were the best.

Question:
At the end of the Superstooge-video, Kenneth starts something, which sounds like the beginning of Hyena... Could I be right?

Guys, i had never heard of MP before seeing them on stage at the Dour festival. IMHO, it was the best gig of the festival - and i had a lot of fun there.

During the gig, everybody around me had a huge smile on their face (i was 2nd or 3rd row in front, slightly on the right of the stage center). It really looked like everybody - including the band - was having a blast. Especially the guitar player (i suppose he's the one you guys call "snah"winking smiley seemed to enjoy his epic pose, in the sunset and the wind. cool smiley

Thanks to all of you for getting the setlist back together, and for posting the videos. Good memories indead will be freshened thanks to them.

I'm definitely looking forward for seeing them next year !
So?
