humour is a difficult thing apparently
It was more of a joke than anything else, honest!
As for the releasedate, I don’t think it’s good news that it is delayed, but on the other hand, this presented a opportunity to make a wise-ass remark about the whole matter, and I’m not excatly famous for holding back on that kind of remarks

@jtr, well, the lyrics are good, the melody is good, and it’s wonderfully complex, a challenging tune really, but… The question is: should Snah have sung it?
On the other hand, I’m afraid that this song might actually be something that might show up at a idol-audition sometime.

aw, all my deep felt symphaties goes out to the owners of Recordplayers – this is really a shame.

@GBD, I see your point I wasn’t much of a ‘naut myself, so I thought I’d ask.
Why didn’t the Fade to Grey make it on IALC? Lot’s of energy and a good groove, could easily replace Neverland or Serpentine *shudder*.
Composite head is, imo, a fun little song, as Supernaut said, the lyrics are cool.

TvdR – JP Sartre NEVER said that, that was a quote from one of the first biographies written about him, a feeble attempt to summarize his philosophy.
Bet you didn’t know that, but now you know.

Quote:I guess one could say that this forum is usually very fanboyish in many ways, but that’s really just because Motorpsycho is such a special act and holds a very special place in all the hearts in here I guess.I know for sure they have rocked my soul a thousand times, both on record and live since the early days.
It is with a feeling of guilt that I put the following text down on “paper”, who am I to put down the work of such musical genius, a band which has given me my biggest musical highs again and again.
I agree, maybe it is a bit too much on the fanboy-side in here but that doesn’t mean that I’m not a huge fan, but I live by the rule “Kill your darlings” – always ask the question if this is good enough and can I live with this (now look how far that got me, hehe). We’ve had a fun/good/interesting discussion/argument about COTF, and I’m looking forward to the next.
welsh rarebit
Quote:I was by the way wrong. Motorpsycho albums are not underrated in the UK. To be underrated they have to be known. It is unknown they are, not underratedAbout over or underrated – I think that the bands fame, or lack of such, is something they wanted all along, I’ve never seen as much pain in anyones eye as when they are “forced” to come on a talkshow on norwegian TV (store studio f.eks) and play “their last hit single”, it’s ridicolous to watch. I can’t just listen to one song, and then be done with it, MP is a album band, each album is a story, and each song needs to be heard in order to get the big picture.
Soothe were never that highly rated, or was it? don’t remember…
O well, I still think BHWC is overrated, not because it is a particulary bad album, but the sensation of disapointment I got from it when I listened to it for the first time *shudder*

Well, as time has gone by, I’d agree that Lobotomizer isn’t exactly a brilliant album, but, seen in a historical perspective, I like it, it oozes with energy and enthusiasm, but it’s absolutely not on my most played list, that’s a fact.
Now that you mention it, Love Cult doesn’t have any flow, good point. Barracuda is one of my favorites, hehe – It’s maybe the best car-driving-album I know, and I remember it as a big relief when I got it, but it’s not very complex album.
Trust us is for me the best MP album ever, hehe.
I’d say that BH/BC sounds like a sort of re-debut for the band, it’s a step in the right direction, but it lacks completely the “tightness”, if you know what I mean, I’ve focused on the drumming, Geb brought it all together before, but when he’s gone, the band doesn’t sound as they’ve played together much before – it sounds like a studio band. In my opinion. And I couldn’t have done better myself either.

Hehe, sorry, typo – mixing Motorpsycho and Black Sabbath apparently, hehe.
And for the record, I don’t agree with anyone, so don’t blame yourself too much, anyone could be wrong you know
peace out

ps: not agreeing with Psychonaut … at all. First of all demaninding a CD release *smacking own wrist and pressing “send Post”*
yeap, it’s released binary on the inside wrapper of est. every 17th packet of hubba bubba gum, if you dont’ have the money to buy 200’000 packs of hubba bubba, and the time to plot in the 0s and 1s however, it’s tough luck indeed, but bear in mind, Geb was a great fan of Hubba Bubba, and it’s their aniversary, so you’re gonna have to live with it.

(a little bitter)
EDIT – sorry Erik, nothing personal. The record is shipped ca 27.june from germany, so I guess approx. 1th of july -> sometime it will be available. As a LP only, mind you.
yea, I know I have to repeat myself a lot in this discussion – but being unemployed gives you quite a lot of time to kill, so you’ll have to excuse me.
It’s not that I don’t know about the alternatives, but I react mainly based on the principle of it.
I’d like to ask, IF COTF was released on 8track, how many of you guys would have run to the 8track store to get a player?
Now, given that I’d like extremely much to get the record, legally, with good consciousness, a cover and inlay, and with “perfect” sound quality – which is actually all I want out of this, am I not forced to get a RP? (And boasting the “bo-ho, sucks to be stalemate and having his principles and empty bankaccount” will not do much good by the way)
I am aware that the RP’s isn’t hard to come by, I know that there’s this chance that this might be possible to steal via piratebay, but none of these ways to get the music actually serves my mentioned desires.
Besides that, I’m deported to Oslo, so mind you, I’m not in the best of moods at the moment
Anyhow, I’ve settled for the “agree to disagree”-attitude in this discussion, we’ve hit the repeat-button quite heavily all of us I guess, and that is what we might call a…. stalemate – whoa! cosmical!

Supernaut.
1: If the artist does not want to have a part time at a supermarket, the artist IS concerned, that’s only logical, no shame in being commercial. And if it really is of no concern, why isn’t it released on a cd?
2: You seem to emphasize the the untouchability of the artists integrity quite heavily to begin with, the artist showing no compromize and blabla bla, while on the other hand you let the artist chase you to the hi-fi store? Why should I let that happen, when every single other album has been a cd release? (cue: Lucid, which reminds me that the space between songs on Demon Box varies on the LP release, hence the CD, with its excatly identical spaces, isn’t a complete edition, go for it L ! )- but as I mentioned in one of the early postings: Motorpsycho should be uncompromising in their Music, and not in form, not that I don’t think they shouldn’t be allowed to release the occasional collectible edition or whatever.
Calling it a “religion” is, in retrospective a big mistake, which ruins the discussion, since “everyone” is caught up in it. Calling some “mindless sheep”, although I know it’s true, wasn’t my smartest move, but calling my questions and opinions “whining and bitching” isn’t too constructive either.
you should NOT have to buy a LP player, because the band SHOULD respect their fans enough to release this as on a CD as well. That’s my opinion, and Jahve help me if God Bent strikes down on me with great vengeance and furious anger for it.
