@ Gusse: “One of my friends commented “this must have been like what people felt like witnessing PF live at Pompeii”” There was no one witnessing Live at Pompeii, it was just the band, the film crew and Mademoiselle Knobs, the singing dog. Authorities wouldn’t allow an audience to be present: they were already afraid that the sound waves would disturb the ruins, let alone waves of flying Floyd fans.
Ironically: they didn’t damage Pompeii in the slightest, but years later, when they did a huge (televised) concert in the laguna of Venice, the fans damaged buildings on the outside and the sound damaged the buildings from the inside.
As always: greetings,
Thomas
Quote:We should start collecting money to buy the MP related copyrights from WOV and give them back to MP. How much money will that be, 50 000- 100 000 NOK?That is an excellent idea! We should set something up, if it’s even remotely possible.
Greets,
Thomas
Absolutely love the box! So many rare records I don’t have to track down anymore! I think they did an excellent job compiling and presenting it, and for the right reasons: for musical & historical reasons and completeness’ sake, not just “Let’s put three bonus tracks on the original album so we can make more money off of old stuff”. To include everything in one go is a bold move, especially for that price. For me it proves yet again that Motorpsycho is only in it for the music.
Greetings,
Thomas
Chien: You’re dutch, right, if I remember correctly?
*fingers crossed

Again sitting at work, reading all your comments, trembling inside and itching to go home. Will it arrive in Holland today? Oh please please please…
Greets,
Thomas
Thanks for the tracklist!!! Looks amazing, wow.
Stickfrau has also sent out the foreign orders yesterday, today the more local stuff.
Greetings,
Thomas
edit: Innersfree. Working for MCA. Seethe. That’s it, I’m taking time off to sit next to the mailbox.
Excellent! Maybe in time for the official release date on Monday! :MPD:

@otherdemon: The Stooges are playing there too? So cool! According to the reviews I read, they don’t play the whole thing stock from start to finish and intersperse songs from “Kill City Radio” and from the other two Stooges albums. Their shows are short to begin with and a festival gig could be even shorter, no time for the whole thing and “I wanna be your dog” anyway!
Greets,
Thomas
Oh yes, please let them document this in some way!
However cool a Monster Tour would be for us, I think they would consider that too much of a stadium rock thing. Also, they would have to make sure everyone that played on the album can come on the tour, a lot of planning and money needed.
It could be cool though. I saw the Floyd play the whole “Dark Side of the Moon” when they toured for the 30th anniversary of that album, that was really good. And it seems that The Stooges with Williamson performing the whole of “Raw Power” right now is something to witness.
Greetings,
Thomas
Gebhardt will play: excellent!
But somehow I’m more excited about the red sweater… Could that mean he’s considering bringing the red Guild Starfire as well?
Lucky bleeders: have fun!
Pre-orders started at Stickman!

Our next release will be the 4-CD Deluxe Edition of Motorpsycho’s classic album “Timothy’s Monster”. The presale is now open! The planned shipping date for all preorders is Friday, August 6th. HOWEVER, there are still some doubts as to whether the pressing will be ready on time, so this date might be delayed for a few days. edit: Ordered, of course! :MPD:
This just arrived in my e-mail from Rune: pre-orders being accepted as of now! No news yet from Jeannette.
Timothy’s Monster pre-orders
â€ÂTimothy´s Monsterâ€Â, originally released in late 94, is a certified classic, considered by many the best Motorpsycho album and often listed as the best Norwegian rock album in most significant listings since it´s release. Coming only a year after their dark and monumental â€ÂDemon Boxâ€Â, this is a lighter, more adventurous, spaceous and varied offering showing them blossoming into the band we have known and loved ever since, always on the move; forward, sideways, upwards, backwards. Spread over four CDs, you get the original album, the first version of the album that never got to be released and a very decent selection of rarities, outtakes and previously unreleased tracks. Not only that, the package itself is nothing short of excellent with it´s newly designed box, cardboard sleeves, poster and 24 page booklet with extensive liner notes and anecdotes, priceless photos and notes about the recordings. This is simply a treasure trove for even the moderate Motorpsycho fan, if there is such a thing as a moderate MP fan…
Pre-order it here for the lowest price and quickest delivery: Rune

edit: This on the Rune site just now:
Timothy´s Monster open for pre-orders
This great 4CD box set is now open for pre-orders at this site. Not only do we have the lowest price, you will also get it quickest from us.
Zoso/Artwork: If the Rune announcement is something to go on, they are going to go with the classic designs. Click on the link in arrkam’s post a bit up in this thread.
Mr. Fillmore/Date: Wish I knew. Again according to Rune, they are still hoping to release it before Oya, so that would be before August 10. Jeannette was still writing liner notes last week. Here’s hoping nothing goes wrong…
Greets,
Thomas
(edit after fast search)
Stickman site: No date yet, but there was an announcement, that the vinyl versions of “Phanerothyme” and “It’s A Love Cult” are back in stock.
Rune site: Clipped from the newest post: “First out will be a grand 4CD edition of Motorpsycho´s early masterpiece â€ÂTimothy´s Monster†from 1994. It should be ready in time for the Øya festival, more details to follow.” (artwork here )
stickfrau’s Twitter: July 1st: “is knee-deep in album credits.16 years ago today, Motorpsycho was recording On My Pillow. Can you wish a song Happy Birthday?” & July 7th: “finds that re-releasing an already-existing album is much more work than a brand new one.”
edit edit: … or a longwinded way of stating no new news.
Hey Zoso,
Found this in another thread:
This was announced officially:
“…some previously unreleased stuff, something which has only seen the light of day on various samplers etc.. also another version of Timothy’s, the pre-version, with some other songs than those which ended up on the original release might be released.”
Pure speculation:
“Isn’t it time to speculate on what songs we can expect to be included in the boxset? On The Toad Again is a safe bet as it was intended for the album, as well as Space Cadet Boogie and Seethe. I think Lake Innersfree by Sir Lord Baltimore was recorded at the Timmy sessions, too, but will they include cover songs? Then we’d probably also have Workin’ For MCA (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Shock Me (Kiss). Hmm. And what about the remaining songs from the “lost album” from ’94, do they count? When the World Sleeps, Black W’abbit (Alabama Kids) and early versions of Stalemate, 7th Dream and Flick of the Wrist, I’d sure like to hear them all.”
Greets,
Thomas
I think it’s supposed to end like this…

Thomas
