I guess it sums up (parts of) the current album's themes. And the shirt looks great, bought it.
I was quite surprised to hear Un Chien in the middle of the show. I assumed they would open or end with it. And funnily enough in the last few days In Our Tree was constantly spinning through my head, so it was great they included it.
I was front left, too and was pleasantly surprised about the little to no chatting. Lucky spot I guess? Un Chien's quiet parts were very enjoyable and undisturbed, so to speak. But bizarrely there was a little pogo crowd during The Golden Core.
Probably due to the couple of rockers such as High Time and You Lied and a very big and intense The Tower right before that one, lots of energy around. Great night, kind of a best of everything set. Moody, jammy, spacey and fun rockey, all included. Yes maybe due to french influence there no one cared about the smoking ban. Felt like a timewarp back to the 90s when they played that venue every year.
I bring a couple of MP live virgins with me. Or rather: one has never seen them, the other one not for more than a decade. I so hope they get wasted by the Chien tonight. Their minds need to be frizzled.
Pie chart
Only the 21st tomorrow. And my friends call ME a Motornerd. Ha!
In the 90s there were sometimes two or three swiss dates, not anymore nowadays. Abroad I had several Munich and Berlin dates and Oslo (A Unicorn At The Opera, both afternoon and evening shows). Oh and the very first was Cologne '95 Bizarre Festival.
Damn, what a magnificiently mad Chien version!! Can music be too good to bear??? Even listening to this audience recording is almost too much to take in, I can't imagine experiencing this version on location and I had my share of live versions of le Chien. But this one here beats the one I witnessed on the 2016 tour, unbelievable… The quiet spacey parts make the supernova black hole big bang lightspeed ride even more extreme.
I hope they're in a similar mood on wednesday in Biel 8O
wow, very focused on songs and not much jamming I guess? I like that they do that now and then as well. They might be not too shabby players but first of all things they're amazing composers, aren't they?
Neither could I, had to downgrade my client. The faq might tell you which and what version works.
nice set!
How long did they play? How many people? Their reaction? I assume many peeps saw them for the first time due to some reputation…
And where's Punji? Still at the venue, trembling in disbelief?
That setlist. Speechless. Wish I'd been there. 8O
How fast was The Wheel? Like No Evil or Alchemyst fast or just a bit less doomey than on recording?
