not having a steady drummer seems to be a money thing, see that italian interview I thought someone posted somewhere in here but I can’t find it.
I’m on dime with a ratio of 0.30 and am a bit worried of getting kicked. I leave the torrents in forever but they hardly ever get seeded back up from my end… Anyone else with this?
I only do MP, maybe that’s why…
any recordings?
Very intense this one. No shorts, just epics, sprawling jams. Very soft, very loud, very slow, very fast. Many WTF and those good ol’ goosebumps moments. One for the books. The Tower middle section was especially fantastic. Also I really liked the choice of songs for the opening section. And Ingvald… damn he’s good!!! It felt to me he’s already been in the band for years.
Chariot was mindblowing. Jesus… And those dynamics overall, the looseness and tightness. When they flew, they flew, when they hit hard, they hit hard. While the Biel show a week ago felt more “round” and flowing, this one was more “extreme”, going all places with surprising moments scattered throughout the songs.
Ah yes and Snah went all Keith Emerson on amphetamines on the mellotron in Hogwash. No need for guitars to burn down the stage.
Ooof that’s a killer set.
Yayvald! Yes he’s really into it! Great choice. Or fate.
Watching now and woah that drum sample loop thingy in Chariot is so cool!
like Punj said, thank you for all the work!
So I posted a time mark but no link to any video.
Oooops sorry.
Bent play chords – yes, both feet – on the Taurus while keeping fingers busy nailing pretty intricate bass lines.
Haha!
On a geeky note, I didn’t even know it’s possible to play chords on the Taurus. But so it’s possible on the Taurus III, then… My Taurus I is monophonic only.
Of course there’s the magic of being a tight knit live band, as we saw in the latter years of the Kenneth and Tomas eras and all the way through the Geb times, but come to think of it: the idea of witnessing a positively energetic but somewhat “shakey” Motorpsycho due to a new drummer is quite intriguing. Accidents and spontaneous saves about to happen throughout.
So I reckoned :) Gotta hunt for that song…
I like that list a lot. No Whip that California and Promise Debased Cosmoctopus instead!
Watching now. Great lofty energy. Now I’m really looking forward to the gigs I’ll attend.
ASFE is such a beast!
I’m with shakti. But I haven’t seen them on this tour yet. If nothing else, I’m very curious what’s it gonna be like and that’s a good thing. I’ve longed for a short-song-set for years now. Ever onward, embrace the changes.
btw I never considered MP as wankery. Despite the jams and long stretched compositions. I usually get easily bored by technical proficiency for sake’s sake but I never felt the band went there. It all made sense in a moody atmospheric way and the fact that once they’re locked in they groove as fuck doesn’t hurt either.

Speaking of “…twin”, I really really really wouldn’t mind “Lighthouse Girl”. Never heard this one live.
