Regarding the Ringnes festival, I was lucky enough to be there the last time Motorpsycho played – as TITS (with friends?), which was absolutely amazing. 2004 I think, and charmingly quaint, diy, refreshingly free of pretense and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We drove to and from Oslo the same day, cause we were too old for that camping shit.
Main scene is the porch of the main house on the Ringnes farm. Awesome.
Would love to go again this year but was sold out so quick, and I didn't have anyone to go (by car) with. Highly recommend and those of you who have tickets should be happy!
HOWEVER,
What still excites me a lot at this point is the fact that the guys behind the festival have produced records from the last six festivals. Number 1 had live tracks from several bands, including one whole vinyl side by TITS.
And the three last instances have been concert recordings of just one band of that year's festival, So… I feel like there's at least the possibility of a "Live at Ringnes" album somewhere on the horizon…
edit: typos/grammar
They've done that quite regularly in Hogwash. Haven't listened to the Genova show yet, but it's been pretty common. If you think that's what it is, it most likely is
No traditional, last two weeks in December, pre-Christmas-concert in Trondheim announced yet?
For vinyl – if you like your LP-covers bent (not Bent) and frazzled around the edges, that is…
Who chills out to Judas Priest anyway? Would have to be some of the early stuff…
 :smoke:
I've got my hands on a copy of the International "tour box" now, and it is about half the thickness of the Norwegian one.
Haven't had time to leaf through the English magazine yet, but there was a poster included – which is the same as the triple foldout cover of the magazine.
Indeed! If that isn't the title of a university dissertation somewhere, some time in the next five years, I'll be deeply disappointed!
River is 6/8 and Ship of Fools is 7/8 but other than that it's really similar to me. And the connections ship/octopus/river seems to be quite typically Motorpsychic tongue-in-cheek
:STG:
I immediately thought of ship of fools…
Also Black to Comm by MC and Into the Sun by Grand Funk Railroad.
Great initiative, Punj! Maybe ad that August is a Love cover?
Two long, atmospheric tracks, very much in the style of the rest of Begynnelser. Cannot compare to the music of the play as I've yet to watch the DVD (should give that a whirr some day soon, probably!).
Weather it is worth it to the casual MP-listener (Casual MP-listener? Do they even exist?), I'm not sure, but with the magazine, and me being a pretty avid collector – I have to have it.
They sell the 10 with the magazine as a package (only 5 "left when I bought mine at about 7:30pm. They probably get more for the next gigs). The ep was never intended to be sold as a standalone.
Another fun one for the completists, in other words
Any idea what other colors the vinyls are? @2005janinge
Are they marked or unsealed, or is it just random which color you get?
