@BronYAur: What do you not find impressive about the song?

I am a 100 times more impressed by this song than the song before it in the radio program, and 100.000 times more impressed by this song than the song after. Approximately.

I find the song brilliant as a Black Sabbath/stoner rock-pastiche. The psychedelic rock and stoner scene has imploded in an oversufficient quantity of Sabbath-clones (yawn) long time ago, while at the same time none of the current bands have ever been able to catch the essence of the music. Enter Motorpsycho: Case closed. Now we can all move on. 5000 bands can lay down their instruments. There is no need to try anymore. It's been decided. You're obsolete. You didn't have what it takes. Now leave it to the grownups, and go play somewhere else. Thank you!

The CD is always in shiny silver, cheaper, and with no extra costs :smoke:

              Plan #1? Good choice!

Marvelous is subjective, but having been to a concert or two, and having listened to most of what is out there, I cannot think of a particularly far out version. Although it has been played live on almost every tour since it was released. Dampsaba makes it very easy to check, at least for the years up to and including 2006:

They only played it once in '93 – that's right, it was not part of the Demon Box live sets – while it was played a lot in '94, '95, '96, and '97 before it was rested for a year and a half.

Then the Baard-era re-introduced it in the fall of '99, still sounding like itself, nothing radical about it. They played it during all of 2000, before it got a rest again.

It was back in 2006 when they had Jacco on drums.

              Kenneth-era played it in '08, '09, '10, '14, and '15 (Demon Box concerts).

And with Tomas it has been played in both '17 and '18.

But as Bent explains in the 2014 tour video, they have two kinds of songs. The ones that are to be played like they originally were written, and the ones that can be experimented with and used as vehicles for exploration. Plan #1 is clearly the first kind.

The most special version I can think of is from A Box Full of Demons. Not because it is far out, but because it is massive with two drummers.

Luckily they keep touring during my exam periods, so I don't have your luxory problems.

Very, very happy that you consider Copenhagen, fillmore! When was the last time we saw them here together? 2008?

If I could pick from the top shelf I'd see the whole tour this time. Apart from that, Thomas is right, always see them in Belgium. Het Depot is of course a classic MP venue, I would go there if I could.

And I must admit Italy looks tempting this time, because it seems to be the end of the tour, it's spring, and it's Italy.

But not likely on my part, so let's see if I am able to join for Hamburg.

                    They played Genova in '97.

The Wheel, although I love it every time they play it. And The Golden Core. Have they ever nailed the vocals live?

Thank you, Phoots Flower. I succeeded with the first link (Burg Herzberg).

The Roadburn link gave error and said it was a protected source.

                          Wow, wow, wow!

Great playing and great sound which captures the atmosphere and ambience of the room that afternoon. Like being back there again!

Cool selection of songs as well. Very happy to have high quality recordings of H Mac/B2S and Dream Home!

I feel blessed with all the recent live stuff popping up. Roadwork 5, Burg Herzberg/Rock Palast, all the great stuff at motorpsychodelicclips, the Rune Grammofon concert, and now this! "Roadwork 6"! A great representation of the band with Reine Fiske! "RW 7" is of course the Rune Grammofon video stream with Lars!

Imagine that we now have Un Chiens in good quality with all three "fourth members" from this tour!

Does anyone know how to, and care to, catch the sound here and upload it to Motortrades?

                          Would be ace! Thanks!

I was there in Castelfranco. Fun night! It seemed the band was very happy to finally have reached Italy, they always loved it there.

Sometimes the Italians do get a special concert, especially back in the day it seemed like they played longer and different sets there.

But you can also get special nights in other countries. In Athens in 2001 they played the An Club, a small basement joint that could hold a 100 people. The stage had this peculiar shape, so they decided to place the drums in front with the three others behind and out in the corners. As they took the stage, Bent introduced themselves as "Gebhardt and the Motorpsychos".

They opened with the yet to be named new jazzy instrumental*, and Bent usually gave the song a new name each night. In Athens he introduced it as "Zorba the Greek Salad".

They delivered a stormer of a rock/jam night to a sold out and very appreciative crowd.

*The new jazzy instrumental from the 2001 fall tour was first time played live introduced as "Dora Peach". It would develop into "Ratcatcher" on Still Life with Eggplant 12 years later.

Is that the word play in Bartok/Bardog? That you would use it for going to the bar? Ah… Sometimes I am so slow :-)

Cool review, cool angle. I am amazed that the forum is mentioned, and that a writer with such insigth can make the mistake of putting "Starbanger", our joking mislabeling of Starhammer, on print, and even without quotation marks or any explanation. Is he not aware of it?

Starhammer becomes Starbanger and often Starhamster, don't know which one I like the least.

Intrepid Explorer becomes Internet Explorer. Admittedly, this on still makes me chuckle.

Ship of Fools has gotten a lot of different names, the last one I saw made absolutely no sense.

Even The Wheel was mentioned here as "Devil", which is just outright confusing. It makes absolutely no sense, not even when said in Norwegian dialect, because the pressure in "The Wheel" is on the last syllable, while in "Devil" it is on the first syllable.

So I ask: Might our joking with song titles have reached a natural limit?
