The stamp on that t-shirt is the image you see at the top of that page (the writing in typewriter font)
I have one of those myself which I bought at the midnight sale @ Big Dipper in Oslo
According to Rune Grammofon, their distributor in USA and Canada is Forced Exposure. They have some MP stuff on both CD & vinyl. Not sure how the prizes are there, though.
Welcome, btw! MP has never toured Canada before (the last time they toured US was in 2008), so I can imagine it's a challenge being a psychonaut in Canada
TAF and welderboy: You both recorded it? You could try making a remaster to attempt and reduce some of the worst distortion. Unless it's totally unlistenable in the heavy parts.
Quote:The soundscape was at times a bit messy, I didn't always catch the details of Fiskes guitar (and I changed spots three times during the concert)I noticed that their stage setup was a bit different in Bergen than in Oslo. At Rockefeller it was Bent left, Snah & Kenneth centerstage, and Reine far right. While Bergen was different? That could have an effect on the sound balance (at Rockefeller I for the first time experienced a flawless MP-gig soundwise from A-Z)
I'm not surprised all the merch sold out in Oslo; I saw several people buying MULTIPLE Eggplant vinyls & other merch
Short question: Did Cornucopia include either King Kong or Go To California? Or was it a "normal" Cornucopia?
Quote:So there will be no "eggplant"-concert at all?Not before the Pstereo concert. It's possible Trondheim gets an "ordinary" concert in autumn, I think. But that's just an (un)educated guess.
Setlist looks right. The only correction I have is that they also did King Kong inside Cornucopia. And they also did The Getaway Special as part of X-3.
That main set was un-fucking-real! Possibly the best one I've ever seen from the guys. The encores however did bum me out; I was hoping for something slightly different than 3 extended stoner cock-rockers. And although I think 's Numbness is a great tune, it was a bit anti-climax as a set-closer (apparently, Fiske wanted to play it)
Great concert! Ratcatcher worked better live because they shortened the outro. K9 was faaaaar out (too bad Bent broke a string near the end of the noisefest), Barleycorn was very extended with a long & cool outro jam, STG kicked ass as usual, and The Alchemyst was grand tonight. And for once, the sound was GREAT from start to finish! Sure enough loud, but able to hear nearly everything going on!
Consider me happy with tonight's performance

EDIT: Courtesy of Kai, here's the setlist scan (Upstairs/Downstairs not played, replaced by 's Numbness) :
SPOILERS AHEAD! READ NO FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD!
1. Hell, Part 1-3 (9:47)
Great, great track. I've loved it since the Düsseldorf and Osnabrück 2011 bootlegs surfaced. However, I'm not so sure if adding the Whiskey RNR outro was THE decision to make (the original outro jam was EXCELLENT!). It just sounds out of place. However, great verses, riffs, and a SMOKING guitar solo by Snah in the middle.
2. August (4:52)
Heard this on the British podcast. Initially I was a bit underwhelmed because I was hoping for a furious Snah/Fiske guitar workout at the end (that didn't quite happen). However, it's still a great track, and it's nice of the guys to pay homage to Arthur Lee; a gifted songwriter. I was able to see August live at Rockefeller 2004, the second-to-last time Love performed it live before Lee died. So it had a special place in my heart even before this cover

3. Barleycorn (Let It Come/Let It Be) (7:18)
Possible grower. I'm still a bit disappointed that the verses actually are way stronger than the chorus; it builds up to an anti-climax. However, nice atmosphere, lovely vocals, and the jam near the end is solid. But for now, I consider it the weakest track on here.
4. Ratcatcher (17:10)
This track will most certainly be the biggest point of controversy among fans. The Dora Peach/Sunday Trane theme will be recognized by those who have a lot of 2001/2002 bootlegs. This is also the one track where Fiske makes his presence felt the most. INSANE track! Snah's interplay with Fiske here is just so unbelievably cool, and they play so well of each other. Maybe it is a couple minutes overlong (specially the end), but when Bent/Snah/Kenneth/Reine click together as well as they're doing here, I can easily forgive it. My personal favorite of the album. And I predict it's going to be insane live!
5. The Afterglow (5:58)
Possibly the most traditional track on here, this reminds me a bit of "Carousel" of IALC, only less orchestrated. I generally have a soft spot for these Bent-sung ballads, and this is no exception. I do however question if the short rocking part at 3:15 really was necessary, but I've gotten used to it. Beautiful guitarwork, especially the slide. And obligatory mellotron to melt my heart.
Overall, I think it's a solid album, but it will take time before I can compare it to the rest of the discography. IMHO, Hell Part 1-3 doesn't quite fit in on the album (it's by far the heaviest track on here), but it's still a great track. With the exception of Ratcatcher, I don't think Fiske quite managed to put his stamp on this album.
Looking forward to Rockefeller tomorrow!
The most interesting part of the Adressa article is this one:
Translated:
Apparently, this was going to be MP's most direct album in a long time.
– We thought so, too. We had approx. 20 song candidates that we brought into the studio. Only 3-4 of them were over 4 mins long. Obviously, all of them made the album, Bent laughs.
– It's impossible to say if the songs that made the album are better quality-wise. But those were the ones that felt most finished. We found a nice dramaturgy in them, Bent adds.
No price for MP

I'm even more thrilled now.Haha, my sentiments exactly! I was thinking of Mike Rutherford's 12 string cirka Trespass/Nursery Cryme when I heard those snippets.
I also read a nice Tweet regarding Ratcatcher: @SidSmith "Your face will melt off as a result of repeatedly playing Ratcatcher from the new Motorpsycho album. #publicserviceannouncement"
