Wow, I actually think MP have a shot at winning the category this year. Esspecially since for some reason, Kaizers Orchestra's Violeta Vol.3 wasn't nominated
MP confirmed for Muziekclub 4AD in Diksmuide, Belgium on April 30th, support: Bed Rugs
Motorpsycho returning to Muziekodroom in Hasselt, Belgium on May 1st, support: Bed Rugs
Are Bed Rugs supporting MP on other gigs of this tour?

I think Still Life With Eggplant (weirdest MP album title ever  ) might have more in common with COTF, but possibly a bit heavier. And with Fiske onboard, I think psychedelia will be prominent. I really hope they expand on that great Whiskey RNR outro from Zappanale last year; I can see Fiske making his presence felt on that one

See u there, I can´t wait.A guest musician is on the one hand enriching on the other hand it means they´re playing a limited number of different songs during the tour. Am I wrong?
Of course there will be a main focus on the eggplant. But since it's a single album, I think they will make room for oldies goldies as well. I don't think the set structure will be the same as the TDDU tour last year.
I too hope for some Blissard twin guitar attack. Norwegian tourdates being released soon?

Too bad God didn't say anything about a Norwegian tour. But that guy works in mysterious ways, I guess :lol:Exciting to see how Fiske gels with Bent/Snah/Kenneth.
Well, they did some studio sessions in October last year where they laid down some "normal" tracks. Possibly tracks like On A Plate, Dog Parade, Whiskey RNR etc. So I wouldn't be surprised if that stuff sees the light of day soon
Quote:"Grand General album will be out in february/march. I'm not shure when yet.According to Rune Gram's website, the Grand General album is out February 1st.
King Kong = The Zappa cover they also played at Zappanale this summer.
Someone on Twitter claims they also played Go To California and Un Chien D'espace. Did they play 'em?
Blissard 1-5 sounds nice
Because Demon Box on Spotify follows the CD version where Mountain wasn't included. The Mountain EP however is on Spotify, so it's there.
Yeah I also think it's the 2000 Pisa show he's referring to. I can easily see the two first songs (Chien and My Best Friend) lasting for an hour
But it could also be that the Dampsaba is missing the Pisa 1999 setlist. I have a soundboard bootleg from the 1993 Gent Democrazy show, and that setlist is not there at all. So there can be inaccuracies in Dampsaba.
Yeah, I noticed it. But in a later footnote he actually says that Hans Storøien wrote "President Block". But typos here & there can be forgiven, because this is quite extensive stuff.
It's also mentioned in one of the footnotes that Harstad was actually working on a complete band biography when he got the request to do this book. He's already had long talks with Bent & Snah about their careers up until Phanerothyme. So this Blissard book actually became somewhat of a sidestep.
Got mine in the mail today! (ex 241/980) Already started reading with the appropriate audio companion
I did however find a factual error early on: It is claimed that longtime MP friend Frode Sander Øien wrote "President Block". That's not correct, it was written by Hans Stenøien, frontman of Trondheim band Epinastic Movements. Funny trivia: Both Lars Lien and Ståle Storløkken played on that EP with "President Block" on it. Another example of keeping it in the family, I guess..
So far, the book is great!
POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!
Yeah, I think this box is great, too (better than the Timmy box, in fact)
But there is one point of controversy that bugs me. And that is regarding Flick Of The Wrist. The KiT version was originally instrumental because the multitrack recording equipment didn't have space for a vocal track. But Bent & Snah did overdub vocals. 3 MONTHS AGO! Why the hell they'd want to overdub vocals to an 18 year old instrumental is beyond me. Borderline cheating, IMHO. Opinions, anyone?
Other than that issue, the box is GREAT! When The World Sleeps is that great lost MP album, esspecially Black W'abbit with Bent's fantastic "as-if-my-life-depended-on-it" vocal delivery. The whole session has that slow, dark & atmospheric post-rock vibe to it.
The Blissard outtakes are cool. I actually prefer all of them to Fools Gold & Nathan Daniels, so I think they made a tiny mistake leaving 'em out (even if they had valid reasons for doing so) But the decision to overdub/remix in Oslo was a wise one, because most of the original mixes lack punch & meaty guitars.
CD4 is also neat. Nice having all those EP B-sides in one place. The 4-piece rehearsals are really interesting because you get a valuable glimpse into how MP structure and present stuff in rehearsals. The early Oslo studio version of Drug Thing is cool, although it structurally isn't quite there yet. And the Atlantis Psychosis Files are plain fun; hearing MP emulating a free-jazz band on those two last tracks is quite hilarious  Jazz still smells funny, I guess.
Just waiting for the book to hit my postbox, then there will be a combined Blissard literary/audio experience
